It’s easy to feel like today’s challenges are too big — like one person alone can’t make a difference. That’s exactly why we need to stand together.

Join us on September 17 for the March of 1,000 Umbrellas, the launch of our 2026 Campaign and a public declaration that Waterloo Region continues to show up for one another.

When 1,000 people walk down King Street together, we’re reminded that challenges become possible to overcome when we face them side by side.

Bring your colleagues, teams, friends, and family.

Calling Waterloo Region’s tech community!

We want to hear from people working in the tech sector to better understand charitable giving patterns and perceptions of the United Way brand.

If you work in tech, we’d be grateful if you took a few minutes to complete our short, anonymous survey. Your perspective will help us better understand how our community thinks about charitable giving and community impact.

Take the survey and share your voice: https://ecommunity.uwaywrc.ca/comm/SurveyNE.jsp?SurveyKeyHex=5F6F5A3D6165343351317E3E

Thank you for helping us learn more!

A huge thank you to the 24 local Shoppers Drug Mart stores and everyone in our community who supported this year's Pad It Forward initiative!

Together, we collected over 300 boxes of menstrual products to help address period poverty and improve access to essential menstrual health products for women in our community.

As the cost of living continues to rise, these products are out of reach for many. Thank you for helping restore dignity, raise awareness, and reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation.

This Disability Pride Month, let’s talk about something that doesn’t get enough attention: 22% of people in Canada live with a disability, yet they make up 41% of those living in poverty.

That gap exists because of systemic barriers, not individual limitations. And our communities have both the power and the responsibility to change that.

United Way Waterloo Region is committed to building equitable communities.

This Canada Day, we’re taking a moment to sit with the complexity of this country’s history and to recommit to the work of building something better, together.

In communities large and small, from coast to coast to coast, United Way Centraide works alongside neighbours, volunteers, and local organizations to make sure everyone can reach their full potential.

That’s the Canada we’re working toward, and we’re glad to be doing it with you.
