🪴🐦‍⬛Spring has arrived in our classroom in so many beautiful ways.

During our walks, we are seeing and hearing more and more birds, and this seasonal change naturally flows into our days at school. We talk about birds during circle time, sing songs about them, play movement games, and create them in the classroom using playdough, clay, and even yarn, all while developing important fine motor skills, coordination, creativity, and language.

We also explored a beautiful old tradition by decorating eggs with wax and trying a traditional dyeing technique. It was a special way to connect children with art, culture, and the rhythms of the season.

Spring, we have been waiting for you 🌸🐣

For preschoolers, art is first of all a process of exploration and experimentation.

Children explore colour, paint, glue, shapes, textures, and all kinds of materials. Through hands-on experience, they discover how watercolor behaves differently from acrylic paint, what marks different tools can leave, and how not only brushes, but also grass, sticks, flowers, send or even kitchen utensils can become instruments for creating.

This is what children’s creativity truly is: a deeply engaging process of discovery, self-expression, and personality formation.

This is exactly how children grow and develop at Universe in the Pocket Montessori
School. ✏️🎨

🌧️Rainy days are full of real childhood magic.
How wonderful it is to walk in the rain, run through puddles, ride scooters and bicycles.

For a child, rain is not an inconvenience - it is an experience. It is a chance to explore, to notice, to move, to test, to feel. The sound of water, the splash of boots, the wet grass, the changing sky - all of this becomes part of learning.

In Montessori, we value real life, real sensations, and real discovery. Nature is not something children should only look at through a window. It is something they should touch, experience, and enjoy.

Sometimes a rainy walk gives children exactly what they need: freedom, joy, movement, and a deep connection with the world around them.

There is no bad weather, only the wrong clothing.
With the right rain boots, a waterproof suit, and the freedom to explore, even a rainy day becomes a beautiful part of childhood.

Already a tradition at our school - we celebrate Friends’ Day every year ❤️

Everyone comes dressed in red and brings a red flower. This year the children brought beautiful gerberas, carnations, and roses, and the classroom felt extra warm and festive.

We made cards for one another, shared compliments, and gave lots of hugs. The children also created their own special photo frames, each one unique and full of personality.

And of course, we cooked something yummy together: healthy homemade chocolate 🍫

What we used:
• cocoa butter + cocoa powder
• dried oranges + berries
• no sugar at all

A sweet treat can be simple and healthy! And friendship makes it even sweeter.

What a wonderful day!❤️

Music education plays a vital role in early childhood.
Playing musical instruments supports brain development, strengthens neural connections, and helps children learn in a truly holistic way.

The Orff approach is about living music through the body. Through movement and play, singing, and playing instruments. Music is experienced.

These activities help children develop creativity, a sense of rhythm, musical hearing, and listening skills, as well as coordination and self-control.

Even at a very young age, playing in an orchestra teaches children to listen to one another, communicate, and create something together. They learn how to blend their sound as a group.

Music becomes a shared language - joyful, expressive, and deeply meaningful 🎶

❄️ Snowy days are the best. ❄️

The kids love being outside! Making snow angels, digging in the snow, sledding down the hill, and exploring everything around them.

And the best part? We get to do all of this right here at our school.

Fresh air, lots of play, and lots of happy kids with rosy cheeks :)

✨ Winter Family Concert ❄️🎄

A couple of days ago, our school was filled with winter magic, music, and warmth.
Families came together to create a beautiful winter story. One where snowflakes danced, penguins waddled, and the Christmas tree slowly filled with symbolic ornaments from each family.

This concert was about togetherness, kindness, joy, hope, and love - the true gifts of winter.

Thank you to our children for their courage, to our families for their openness and creativity, to our team for creating and organizing this unique celebration, and to everyone who helped turn this afternoon into a memory our children will carry in their hearts.

Winter brought us together, and that is the greatest gift of all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

During the holiday season, children often receive a lot of gifts - from parents, relatives, friends, and even people they don’t know. The presents keep coming, one after another, and at some point a child simply gets used to receiving. They start wanting more, and a feeling can appear like “everyone should be giving me something.” Parents then begin to feel anxious or frustrated… but the truth is, adults have often unknowingly taught this pattern of constant receiving.

So how can we change it?

What’s interesting is that children actually love giving. When they like someone, they share what feels most valuable to them - they’ll make a little card, give their prettiest “treasure” stone, or proudly offer something they’ve been saving. They truly enjoy giving their best!

That’s why, before the holidays, we always do something simple but very important at our school: we help children prepare small gifts that they can take home and later give in return.

In our classroom, this is usually:
• small cards
• handmade ornaments for the tree
• simple “gifts made by hand”: little drawings, bookmarks, cookies, or a small craft

The most important part is that the children make these gifts as independently as possible, and they can create as many as they want - we have everything they need in the classroom.

And then, during the holidays, when a child can give something back, a healthy balance appears: “I receive - and I give.”

Children love giving gifts. It’s important for them to feel the joy of exchange and to feel equal as givers, too.

Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates, and Happy New Year!

In our classroom, a child can have a snack when they feel hungry. Independently and at their own pace.

Slicing an apple, making their own juice, cutting bananas, carrots or cucumber, serving themselves, and even sharing with friends.

Through these simple and enjoyable everyday moments, children practice coordination, concentration, responsibility, and social skills.

And step by step they become more independent and capable.

Watch how confidently they pour themselves a drink, slice, grate, scoop, and transfer.. how natural it becomes…

Skills are built only through real practice, and that’s exactly what happens here every day. and how confident our children look after these practices.
