Each week, our children become more experienced and skilled.

Along with writing, math, geography, and music, they have so much real-life practice every day. These simple practical skills build confidence that stays with them for life.

And it feels so good to be able to make something delicious for yourself and for the people you love - like this beautiful jelly!

At this rate, we may soon be publishing our own recipe book. 🍓

Fridays are extra special at our school - it’s Cooking Day!

This week, the children made their own pizzas with sourdough crust, homemade tomato sauce, and three kinds of cheese.

The best part? Enjoying something delicious they had made themselves. Everyone asked for seconds! 🍕

Making cookies may look like simple fun. But for a child, it is so much more. 🍪

Feeling how soft and stretchy the dough is. Adding flour - fine, powdery, and silky between the fingers. Tasting the ingredients and noticing their smell.

Then comes the movement: rolling the dough with a rolling pin, cutting out shapes, or creating them with little fingers - tearing, pressing, squeezing, shaping, and rolling it again and again.

And then, of course, cleaning up. Gathering the flour, wiping the table, washing the dishes, and putting everything back in its place. This, too, is part of the experience: learning to care for the space around us and taking responsibility for what we have created.

Silent Journey and Discovery

An evening for parents to experience the Montessori classroom through the eyes of a child.

On June 26, from 5:00–7:00 PM, we invite parents to step into the prepared environment, explore Montessori materials, join a short circle time, and gently experience what their child lives every day in our classroom.

This is a quiet, thoughtful, hands-on evening designed to help parents better understand how children learn, choose, concentrate, repeat, discover, and grow in the Montessori environment. You will also learn more about what children develop during their Montessori journey!

Children ages 4–6 in a Montessori environment

At this age, children are ready to go deeper: to concentrate for longer periods of time, choose more challenging work, take on more responsibility, and gradually become leaders in the group.

Montessori Casa gives children exactly what they need at ages 4-6: an individual pace, practical life skills, the opportunity to learn writing and reading at the right time, deep mathematical understanding, and rich exploration of nature, our planet, and space.

Here, children are not simply “getting ready for school.”
They learn how to think, make decisions, act independently, help others, complete their work, and believe in their own abilities.

For children of this age, a Montessori environment is not just an alternative to JK. It is an environment that more deeply meets their developmental needs.

🪴🐦‍⬛Spring has arrived in our classroom in so many beautiful ways.

During our walks, we are seeing and hearing more and more birds, and this seasonal change naturally flows into our days at school. We talk about birds during circle time, sing songs about them, play movement games, and create them in the classroom using playdough, clay, and even yarn, all while developing important fine motor skills, coordination, creativity, and language.

We also explored a beautiful old tradition by decorating eggs with wax and trying a traditional dyeing technique. It was a special way to connect children with art, culture, and the rhythms of the season.

For preschoolers, art is first of all a process of exploration and experimentation.

Children explore colour, paint, glue, shapes, textures, and all kinds of materials. Through hands-on experience, they discover how watercolor behaves differently from acrylic paint, what marks different tools can leave, and how not only brushes, but also grass, sticks, flowers, send or even kitchen utensils can become instruments for creating.

This is what children’s creativity truly is: a deeply engaging process of discovery, self-expression, and personality formation.
