Music learning happens in a cycle 🌀
Children first receive music through listening, observing, and absorbing the sounds and rhythms around them. Over time, that reception becomes expression as they begin to sing, move, play, and create music themselves.
Just like language development, musical growth starts with rich exposure. The more opportunities children have to experience music in a playful, supportive environment, the more naturally they develop confidence and musical skills.
At Great Lakes Music Together®, we nurture both sides of this cycle through songs, movement, instruments, and joyful family participation.

The kind of music that becomes part of your everyday life 💛
The songs don’t stay in the classroom. They follow families into car rides, grocery store runs, bedtime routines, kitchen dance parties, and all the little moments in between.
That’s one of the things families love most about GLMT, it becomes part of your rhythm at home, too.

There’s something really special about this age group ☀️🥁
Kids are starting to want more independence, more creativity, and more opportunities to express themselves and Rhythm Kids is designed for exactly that.
Through drumming, storytelling, movement, instrument making, singing, and collaborative play, they’re building confidence and musical skills in a way that still feels fun and natural.
This isn’t just about keeping kids entertained for the summer. It’s about giving them an experience that helps them grow.
Rhythm Kids Summer Camp is for ages 4–8 and spots are limited for summer.

Music learning doesn’t begin with pressure or performance. It begins with exposure 🎶
The same way children naturally learn language by hearing it, repeating it, and being immersed in it, music works much the same way.
Through singing, rhythm, movement, repetition, and playful participation, children begin building musical understanding in a way that feels completely natural to them 🪇
That’s why consistency matters so much in early childhood music experiences. The learning is happening through connection, familiarity, and shared experience not perfection.
Our summer session is designed to be shorter and more flexible for busy summer schedules, while still giving families the consistency and connection that helps the music carry into everyday life ☀️
