Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre - WWFC The Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre is one of the largest and most experienced flight training schools in Canada. WWFC managed the airport for over 20 years.

Founded in 1932, at Lexington field in North Waterloo, the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) is deeply rooted in the Waterloo region. With its beginnings as a flying club, WWFC has continued to grow over the years, including being the driving force behind the development of the Waterloo Airport in its current location in 1950. Today WWFC is proud to offer a state of the art facility, is partnered with two prestigious post-secondary institutions - offering industry recognized training to individuals seeking a career in aviation and still strongly supports the general aviator, training over 50 private pilots annually. The Waterloo Wellington is a not-for-profit corporation and is governed by an eight member volunteer board of directors who oversee the long term development and operation of WWFC and its programs.

Ready to bring your experience to WWFC and help shape the next generation of flight instructors?

Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre is looking for a Class 1 Flight Instructor to join our team, full-time or part-time, with a particular focus on supporting Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) training and mentorship.

We’re looking for someone with:
✈️ A valid Class 1 Flight Instructor Rating
🎓 Strong instructional and mentoring skills
🛡️ A commitment to safety and student success
📋 A valid Medical Certificate and Radio Operator’s Certificate

Bonus: Group 1 IFR, PA44/multi-engine experience, and previous supervisory or teaching experience.

Personal minimums help pilots make safe, consistent decisions before situations become challenging. Don’t wait for a difficult flight to decide what your limits are.

Set clear minimums for things like crosswinds, visibility, fuel reserves, and ceiling heights based on your experience and comfort level. Write them down, review them regularly, and adjust them as your skills and confidence grow. Good decision-making starts long before takeoff.
