Olympic Week at EYES Kitchener

Paint Skiing! 🎿🎨

We placed a large sheet of paper on the floor with different colors of paint and helped the children put plastic bags over their feet to “ski” across the paint. The children practiced balancing, moving their bodies, and exploring the colors while making beautiful patterns with their steps.
Some children were curious and even tried walking barefoot in the paint, which made the experience even more exciting! It was wonderful to see their laughter, creativity, and teamwork as they moved around and watched the colorful tracks they created together.

Olympic Balance Race

Today the children enjoyed another fun Olympic-themed activity! We created a balancing race using colorful stepping stones and blocks. The children carefully walked across the path while stretching their arms out to keep their balance, just like real athletes in an obstacle course. They took turns racing, cheering for their friends, and celebrating when they reached the finish line.
This activity helped develop the children’s balance, coordination, and gross motor skills while also encouraging team spirit, confidence, and turn-taking. The classroom was full of excitement, laughter, and proud little winners! 🏅

Tomorrow's update - Closure of EYES Kitchener

Good Evening Everyone,

We hope that everyone has been staying nice and cozy inside this evening.

It looks like the WRDSB (Waterloo Region District School Board) has made an early decision today that public schools and busses will be cancelled for tomorrow. To align with their decision, we have decided to also close EYES Kitchener for the day tomorrow.

This wasn't an easy decision to make, but we want to ensure that all children, families, and staff do not need to be on the roads tomorrow and can stay safe indoors at home for the day.

We will keep everyone posted throughout the day tomorrow for Tuesday. Let's hope that the plows get through the roads quickly tomorrow so that everyone who needs to be out can do so safely.

Thank you sooooo much to all our children, families, and staffing team for your dedication over this past month in the donations you have provided in our EYES Kitchener Toy Drive this holiday season.

A few of our staffing team members were able to load up a van full of all the toys to send to which is just in our local community. We can't wait for those children and families to receive these gently used and brand new toys this holiday season.

From the team at EYES Kitchener, thank you once again for your generosity and kindness. We can't wait for next year's toy drive to be even BIGGER!

To celebrate the Festival of Lights, our toddlers and preschoolers made their own Diya's using clay, paper plates, bright colors, and lots of sparkles! 🎨💫

Each diya shines with creativity and love — just like our little ones. 🥰
