Dear teachers, we look forward to seeing you in great numbers next week at our annual convention at the Bonaventure Hotel. (October 15-16, 2026)
Besides the great offer of regular in-person and online PD sessions offered in this year’s edition, here are a few reminders:
1- DAVE FOLEY’s keynote presentation – October 15th, at 8 p.m.
Best known for creating and starring in the critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning sketch series THE KIDS IN THE HALL, and in the long running NBC series NEWSRADIO, Dave Foley also forged a feature film career that is still very active today.
Dave Foley is going to be discussing education’s role in preparing humanity for a number of potential futures taking into account longevity research, the potential and the limits of science, our disintegrating understanding of the cosmos, artificial intelligence, robotics and super intelligence, the existence of UFOs, the coming hegemony of non-human intelligences and finally the high probability that it’s all a simulation.
2- Q & A session with Dave Foley – October 15th, at 3 to 4 p.m.
There is still time to sign up for the Q & A afternoon session with Dave Foley. There are only a few spots left!!!

3- Keynote presentation by Dr Phil McRae – Friday October 16th, at 10:30 a.m. - Catalyzing Connections or Deceiving Disinformation: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Everything
The scope and speed of change that is coming with the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) is profound. It is expected that AI may reach human levels by around 2029, and by 2045 we will have multiplied our human biological intelligence a billion-fold. This session is intended to catalyze a discussion about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the future of everything, including the profession of teaching. Dr. McRae will share key considerations in terms of issues of ethics, algorithmic bias, surveillance, trust, moral passivity, and cognitive atrophy from his work as Special Advisor on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) to the General Secretary of Education International (EI). He will also draw on his collaborations and learning from work with the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.
4- Social Event - Thursday October 15th, starting at 9 p.m. (following the keynote)
You are all welcome to join us at the Social Event on Thursday evening featuring Sugarstar and Dj Akin. Several prizes will be distributed to teacher attendees throughout the evening.
5- Accessibility:
As a reminder, for the first time, our event is easily accessible using the REM, which will bring you directly to the Gare Centrale REM station, next door to the Bonaventure hotel.
