This week, Grades 7โ€“12 students took part in land-based learning activities focused on moose harvesting this week.

Joined by Indigenous Education Lead Keith Laboucan, local knowledge keepers Denny Bellerose and Kathleen Okimaw, and hunters from Swan River First Nation, students enjoyed the brisk fall weather out on the land in our boreal forest and designated hunting areas. At the traditional campsite, they helped scrape the hide and prepare (pรขnsรขwรขn), which eventually becomes the dried-meat (kรขhkรชwak) version.

Thanks to everyone at Swan River who helped make this experience possible for our students, and to our bus driver for navigating the students safely to and from the school.

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Help Us Keep Our School Clean!

With winter approaching, we are asking all Junior and Senior High students to bring an extra pair of indoor shoes to school.

Changing out of wet and muddy outdoor footwear will help us keep our hallways and classrooms clean, dry, and safe throughout the winter months.

Please send a pair of shoes that can be kept at school and worn indoors each day. Your help makes a big difference!

Thank you for helping us keep Kinuso School clean and safe! ๐Ÿ˜Š
