Here’s a series of field dressing illustrations I did over a decade ago for a beginning hunter course. It was one of my first projects as a full-time freelancer. Most folks have their own preferred way, and it varies somewhat. When I was growing up doing deer drives, we’d split the pelvic bone with a hatchet right their in the field. When I moved away, nobody did that.
