🍂🧡 Our Kindergarten class has SO much to be thankful for! We are grateful for the joy, kindness, and love we share each day. This Thanksgiving, we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we live out our board theme, Do Justice, by showing kindness, caring for others, and making a difference in our little corner of the world. 🧡🙏

Happy Thanksgiving from our Kindergarten family! 🍁

Terry Fox Walk/Roll — What an Amazing Community!

What started with a goal of raising $350 — $1 for every student and staff member at St. Thomas More — quickly turned into something so much bigger!

We are incredibly proud to share that our St. Thomas More Catholic School community raised an amazing $1,048.73 for the Terry Fox Foundation!

Our students, staff, families, and supporters showed incredible generosity and school spirit as we came together to honour Terry Fox and his dream of finding a cure for cancer. From reaching our original goal to nearly tripling it, every donation made a difference.

This year's pastoral theme, “Do Justice — Putting Our Faith Into Action,” reminds us that small acts of kindness and generosity can make a big difference. Our Terry Fox Walk/Roll was a wonderful example of our community putting that spirit into action.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated, participated, cheered us on, and helped make the event such a success!

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also recognized across our Catholic learning communities as Orange Shirt Day.

At ALCDSB, we recognize that reconciliation is not a one-day event. It is an ongoing commitment to honour the thousands of Indigenous children who were taken from their families and placed in Residential Schools, and to reflect on the lasting impacts these experiences continue to have on individuals, families, and communities.

In preparation for this important day, ALCDSB educators have been provided with guiding principles, resources, and curriculum supports to help foster meaningful learning and reflection. Together, we are creating safe and respectful spaces for students to engage in conversations about truth, reconciliation, and the enduring legacy of the Residential School system.

Today, we wear orange to affirm that Every Child Matters. At St. Thomas More, we honour Survivors of Residential Schools, remember the children who never returned home, and commit to the ongoing work of truth and reconciliation.

Inspired by our pastoral theme, Do Justice, students and staff will sign our Every Child Matters flag, which will hang in our school as a reminder of our responsibility to work toward reconciliation every day.

⚽ Soccer Tournaments Kick Off Today! ⚽

We’re excited to cheer on our Jags as they take to the field at John Machin Soccer Park for the upcoming Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board soccer tournaments this week!

These tournaments are a great opportunity for our students to showcase their skills, work together as a team, and represent St. Thomas More with pride while competing and connecting with students from other schools across the Kingston area.

We know our players have been working hard, and we can’t wait to see them put their teamwork, determination, and school spirit into action!

Families are always welcome to come out and cheer on our teams — your support from the sidelines means so much to our students!

Let’s go, Jags!

🍁 Walking & Rolling for Terry: Putting “Do Justice” Into Action! 🍁

This afternoon our school community will come together for our annual Terry Fox Walk/Roll!

As we walk and roll together in support of the Terry Fox Foundation, we have a wonderful opportunity to live out this year’s pastoral theme, “Do Justice.” Our ALCDSB pastoral theme calls us to put our faith into action through compassion, service, justice, and love for our neighbours.

By supporting the Terry Fox Foundation, our students can see that even small steps, when taken together, can help make a difference.

We had asked that everyone donate one dollar through School Cash Online. We have already doubled that goal, so any contributions, big or small, are greatly appreciated!

Thank you to our families and school community for helping us continue Terry’s incredible legacy of courage, perseverance, and hope.

Together, we can Do Justice, one step and one roll at a time!

🙏 Coming Together in Faith

Tomorrow, our St. Thomas More Catholic School community will come together for our first school Mass of the year. We are grateful for these opportunities to gather in prayer, celebrate our faith, and strengthen the connections that make our school community special.

Our pastoral theme this year, “Do Justice — Putting Our Faith Into Action,” reminds us that our faith is not just something we celebrate — it is something we live. Through prayer, service, kindness, and the way we care for one another, we are called to put our faith into action each day.

We look forward to gathering together and beginning our year of Masses in faith and community.

🎉 We’ve Reached 250 Followers! 🎉

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has followed the St. Thomas More Catholic School page!

We love using this space to share the amazing things happening in our school — celebrating our students, highlighting the great work of our staff, sharing school events, and keeping our families connected to our school community.

This year, our pastoral theme is “Do Justice — Putting Our Faith Into Action.” As a school community, we are called to look for ways to care for others, support one another, and put our faith into action each and every day. We hope this page can be one small way of sharing those moments and celebrating the many ways our students and staff are making a difference.

Reaching 250 followers is a small milestone, but it means a lot to us! Thank you for following along, supporting our students, and being part of the St. Thomas More community.

Here’s to the next 250!

Thank You for a Wonderful Open House BBQ Evening!

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who joined us for our Open House BBQ last Thursday evening! It was wonderful to see so many of our families come together to share food, laughter, and conversation as we celebrated the beginning of another school year.

A special thank you to the Knights of Columbus for generously giving their time to BBQ the hotdogs, and to Father Cosmas for joining us for the evening. Your support and presence help make our school community such a welcoming and faith-filled place.
This year's pastoral theme, “Do Justice — Putting Our Faith Into Action,” reminds us that our faith calls us to care for one another, build community, and look for ways to make a difference.

The Open House BBQ evening was a wonderful example of that spirit in action, as families, staff, and community members came together to support our students and one another.

Our school is more than a building — we are a community and a family. Thank you for being such an important part of that community and for helping us begin the school year with such a wonderful evening together.

We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to all the learning, growing, and celebrating ahead at St. Thomas More Catholic School!
