***PRACTICE TIPS!!!***
Working with Long Long Ago (Book 2) as a review!
HERE ARE SOME IDEAS: ๐ก
1. Lengthen the bow expectation: Can you consistently make it to the tip and then back to at least the bottom 1/4th of the bow on every quarter note? This is a great place to build in distribution consistency, especially if you're working on the Minuets.
**Remember, Book 2 is all about consistent bow choreography and full bow lengthening!๐
2. Need a little tidy up of the left hand finger placement? The B section is a great spot to be sure your favorite left hand placement stays intact during the D string crossing and the following placement of 3rd finger.
**Remember, every finger placed in your ideal spot is vibrato set up for the future! ๐ป
3. If students are in the middle of the Minuets, often they end up placing 2nd fingers smack in the middle of C and C #. Use Long Long Ago to practice feeling the C # to D half step throughout the piece.
*Remember, Minuet 1 to Gavotte by Gossec is your chance to firm up second finger intonation before adding B flats in Book 2. โบ
4. Are you struggling to keep motivation going? Use the backup track to spice things up while also working on increasing tempo. (CD or Youtube)
*Remember, most students are practicing review without supervision or piano support, providing a musically inspired track is going to help them FEEL the reason they are practicing in the first place.
HAVE FUN and remember... "You don't have to practice every day, only on the days you eat" - Shinichi Suzuki
