Teaching Vocabulary
I'm taking the Tools 4 Reading Top Ten Tools course and thought I'd share this super-easy lesson/activity that can be used for any grade and subject. It could also be used as a warm-up, Word Work, or by itself. The page has a short video included for those of us who like to see lessons in action.

Sound Wall - Phonemes with Spellings - Mouth Shapes Pictures - Phonics This is something I've wanted to create for a few years - and thanks to Covid-19, it's finally done! Ontario Report Card Mark Sheets for Easier Mark Entry incl. Learning Skills These sheets are intended to help teachers become more organized when it comes to mark entry for progress reports and report cards. It can also help teachers see at-a-glance which subjects need to be assessed prior to writing report cards. Good for Ontario Grades 1-8 Includes an editable file (ca...

When you put your class Jack-o-Lantern in the school garden to decompose and watch it ... and missed a seed. ๐ฌ This has shocked everyone (and left the food-sharing gardening people astonished and stumped). Oops?
Here's a little video showing how I set up my phonics notebooks. I use these for printing practice, letter/sound sorts (to accompany Words Their Way), and as a warm-up for guided reading!
The pocket in the front is a library card pocket. Students are able to grab their book and since Ive already put in phonics cards at their instructional level, they can complete this Word Work on their own!
