Professor Juliane Okot Bitek (Queen's Department of English Literature & Creative Writing and Department of Gender Studies) has earned the 2026 Trillium Book Award/Prix Trillium for her book We, the Kindling. The Trillium Book Award showcases literary excellence by authors, poets, and publishers of the best fiction and poetry books from Ontario. The annual Queen's University Biological Station (QUBS) Open House is back on Sunday, June 21 as we celebrate 81 years of QUBS!
There's a lot to be excited about: they have a brand-new environmental research building, researchers will be on site sharing what they're working on, and their outreach and community partners will have booths set up throughout the afternoon. Bring the whole family — there's something for everyone, and there will be snacks. No registration required. Just drop in!

Cultural Studies at Queen's University PhD candidate Christopher Wilson has earned a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship (Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation), one of only 18 PhD students in Canada to earn the honour. Christopher's research focuses on the alter-archives of Black sound recordings from the 1960s to the early 2000s. Congratulations Christopher!
