I am in my fifteenth year of teaching in the Music for Young Children TM program as an MYC certified instructor, as well as teaching private students in my studios in both downtown Kingston and Kingston West. While I enjoyed being a teacher of adults for 17 years as a prenatal educator, teaching music to children is so wonderful and rewarding and has given me the opportunity to combine two of my passions: music and children. My philosophy toward teaching young children is to make the experience both fun and enjoyable for the student (and parent!) while developing an excellent fundamental understanding of music. I am flexible in my approach, and have students who choose to follow the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exam stream, those who prefer to learn a wide variety of music including popular repertoire, and those who do both. As your child progresses I encourage dialogue between student, teacher and parents to determine the best path for your child.
