Topmast is a RYA Training Centre located in the sailing capital of Canada – Kingston, Ontario. Because the RYA training scheme is comprehensive and up to date it is widely recognised as an industry leader when it comes to teaching safe practices for boaters. The Yachtmaster curriculum, pioneered by the RYA, is highly regarded and sought after by those seeking a career in the yachting industry, especially the Superyacht industry. RYA practical and navigational courses are the foundation of this scheme and a must-have for anyone serious about boating – either for cruising or as a career. The practical and navigational courses are informative and challenging. Students are encouraged to ask questions and plumb the depths of the instructor’s knowledge. Practical courses take place on a CS30 and are run out of the Collin’s Bay Marina in Kingston. Powerboat courses are also run out of the marina and take place on a Zodiac 550 Pro. Shorebased courses are run from the Collin’s Bay Yacht Club.
