Here at Jung Do Martial Arts, we are committed to making you feel welcome and appreciated at our school!

Our approach to martial arts training at the Jung Do Martial Arts Academy is distinct from other schools in that we utilize martial arts as a vehicle to teach a combination of essential life skills that enable children to effectively deal with lifes challenges. Our teaching is based on traditional aspects of martial arts philosophies combined with conflict education, tactical communication, and stress management ensuring our aim of educating the whole child is accomplished.

The story continues.

Caleb and Mila face a new challenge—someone driven not by power, but pain.

As the line between right and wrong begins to fracture, the Protectors face a new adversary armed with more than scars.

For the past several months, I’ve been deep in the editing process for Epic & Kimura: Heart of Hope. The manuscript goes in for its final professional line-edit at the end of May, and I’m hoping for a late June / early July release.

This story is incredibly close to my heart because through it, I’ve been able to honour someone I never thought I would—but now I’m grateful I can.

Curious?

I hope you’ll step back into the arena with us when the story releases.

What would you do if someone pressured you to hurt another?
What if it was two people…What if it was five?

One of our students faced that moment.

Five boys wanted him to attack someone who was alone—to prove his skill. To show what he could do.

He was tested.He passed.

He didn’t strike.He stood.

Because at our school, skill isn’t just about what you can do—it’s about what you choose to do.

Part of our student oath is to be a positive role model. To make others feel accepted. To encourage, not harm.

That boy was alone. He needed a friend.

And in that moment—our student gave him one.

Courage isn’t just about getting better…it’s about being better.

Small team. Big impact.

We had an incredible day at the International Kids Ontario. Our crew may have been small—but they showed up strong.

Lyanna and Harvey stepped on the mat and left it all out there:
• 5 total matches
• 4 wins
• Growth you can’t measure on a scoreboard

Lyanna came back and beat an opponent who had defeated her 15–0 last year. That’s what resilience looks like.

Harvey secured two submissions—including a beautiful triangle to armbar combo. Precision under pressure.

It takes courage to step on the mat and compete.
But every single time you do… you step off stronger.

Proud of you both. This is just the beginning.

Confidence isn’t something you’re born with. It’s something you build.

It starts with a simple idea:
- Trusting yourself to do what’s in front of you.

So how do you build that trust?

You show up.
You push… even when you don’t feel like it.

That’s courage.

And every time you choose it, your confidence grows.

These Power Bar kids did exactly that over the last month—showing up, pushing through, and earning that trust in themselves.

Well done, everyone. Keep pushing.

Epic & Kimura: Heart of Hope
Coming this summer.

Every scar tells a story.
Some are seen.
All are carried.

This is explored both.

I’m excited to share that Epic & Kimura: Heart of Hope—Book 2—will be released this summer.

This story goes deeper. It’s a little darker… and more powerful than the first.

I can’t wait to share it with you.

Confidence isn’t built in a single moment.
It’s built in the small moments that happen again and again.

What does it take to build confidence?

One thing is Consistency.

At Jung Do, our students choose challenges on purpose.
They fall. They try again. They push through feelings.
And each time they do, something powerful happens…

Confidence grows.

Confidence isn’t something you’re given.
It’s something you earn through action.

Proud of every student who shows up, embraces the challenge, and keeps going.

Epic & Kimura made the short list at the 2026 One Voice Conference Awards. WOW!

Out of 4,000 audiobook entries, our narrator Paul Delaross has been shortlisted for Best Performance – Fiction at the One Voice Conference Awards.

And the performance that earned the nomination?

Epic & Kimura: Fear of the Unknown.

Self-produced. Standing alongside major publishers and studios.

Paul brought this story to life with heart, depth, and incredible talent. I couldn’t be more grateful for the work he’s done on this project.

The journey continues.

The compound effect is real.
Small actions, repeated over time, lead to powerful results.

The team was back at it last night — movements getting sharper, weight going up, strength taking shape. This is what consistent effort looks like.

Big thank you to Coach Ali and Coach Hayden for their guidance and leadership at Performance Inspired Training!

Hard work pays off.

What does it mean to be resilient?
To rebound.
To recover.
To return stronger.

Rebecca was the youngest competitor in her division.
With no one in her category, she stepped into the adult division at just 16.

Her toughest match?
A shutout loss — 11–0.
Pinned underneath a stronger, aggressive opponent.
A long, hard fight.
No submission.
No quitting.
She endured.

The experience was different.
Faster. Stronger. Relentless pressure.

But the loss didn’t shake her.

She met the same opponent again in NoGi.

This time:
Calm.
Patient.
Poised.

Takedown.
Pressure.
Position.
Purpose.

5–3 victory.

She rebounded.
She alchemized the experience.
She used the loss as fuel.

This is what it’s about —
not just winning…
but bouncing back, applying the lesson, and demonstrating growth.

Well done, Rebecca.

The Durham Classic — a Valorix Experience.

7:00 AM — hit the highway.
9:00 AM — arrive.
9:30 AM — still outside, waiting in line.

9 athletes.
Many in two divisions.
Only 2 coaches.
9 straight hours on the mats.

Wins.
Losses.
Struggles.
Growth.
Smiles.
Tears.
Cheers.
Challenges.

Energizing. Exhausting. Totally worth it.

At the end of the day:
9 athletes — 13 medals
4 Gold
7 Silver
2 Bronze

The medals feel good.
The losses don’t.
But both have meaning.

Because what we really bring home isn’t hardware —
it’s experience.
Lessons.
Resilience.
Perspective.

Back to work. Apply what we learned.

3-hour drive home in slow traffic and rough weather…
and still — a day completely worth it.
