Three Kingston grade 8 students are being recognized in a national mathematics contest which is typically written by grade 9 students.

πΆπ Huge congratulations to our KTS bands! ππΆ
A fantastic day at the Kiwanis Music Festival for our Grade 5/6 Band, Grade 7/8 Band, and Band Club! π
All three groups earned π PLATINUM π the highest level in the festival! π
We took on some very challenging pieces this year, and every student rose to the occasion with confidence, skill, and teamwork. One of the Band Club pieces was even performed by a senior high school concert band, and our students absolutely nailed it! ππΊ
We couldnβt be prouder of their hard work and incredible performance. Way to go, KTS! ππΆ

What an incredible performance at the Kiwanis Music Festival on Friday! ππΌ
Our students impressed with their rhythm, professionalism, memorization, enthusiasm, and confidence β earning high praise from the adjudicator! π
This year marked a special milestone as we performed as an instrumental ensemble, showcasing talents on xylophones, recorders, boomwhackers, rhythm cups, glockenspiels, claves, bass drums, and ukuleles β with a special appearance from Ben (Grade 7) on saxophone π·β¨
We are so proud to celebrate their achievement, a well-earned β¨GOLDβ¨ certificate now proudly displayed in our music room! π

ππ KTS Students Excel in National Math Contest!
We are incredibly proud of our Grade 8 students who competed above their grade level in the Grade 9 Pascal Math Contest from the University of Waterloo CEMC - Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing! π§ β¨
π Out of 25,488 students across Canada:
π
2 KTS students earned Certificates of Distinction (Top 25%)
π Placed 9th, 12th, and 66th in our Kingston/Belleville zone
π« As a team, KTS finished 7th overall in our region β outperforming local high schools
An incredible achievement that highlights the strength of our enriched math program and our studentsβ dedication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. π

ππ₯ Tournament Success for KTS! π₯π
What an incredible week of basketball for our KTS teams!
π Junior Competitive Team β Tournament Champions!
After a dominant tournament run, the championship game came down to overtime and sudden death. In a dramatic finish, Otto knocked down the game-winner to secure the title! ππ₯
Every player played a crucial role β from experienced athletes to first-time competitors β showing resilience, teamwork, and tremendous growth throughout the tournament. We couldnβt be prouder of how they represented KTS!
π₯ Senior Co-Ed Recreation Team β 3rd Place Finish!
With a short bench and heavy minutes, our Grade 7/8 team battled through every game with heart and determination. After a tough semi-final, they regrouped and earned a hard-fought bronze medal in a nail-biter finish! πͺ
Thank you to all the parents who came out to cheer, and to our amazing student volunteers who helped with scorekeeping and timekeeping. Your support makes events like this so special!
