We are looking for upper year students to act as mentors to new students. Select 2nd- and 3rd-year students will each have a group of 1st-year student mentees who they will meet with briefly each month. Students who successfully mentor others will be eligible for their own professional mentor at the end of their time in AMC. You will receive full training. This does not involve any tutoring or counselling; it is a casual, friendly and well-structured program of mentorship, which is excellent for your resume, LinkedIN and mentioning in interviews as a point of differentiation.
This will be a competitive program and only 10 students will be appointed as mentors, based on your expression of interest and our review of your prior engagement in classes. This is not about grades; it’s about whether you showed up consistently, put in effort and had an open, positive attitude.
Please email Kathy if you are interested in applying to be a mentor. Second- and third-year students are eligible to compete for this. Kathy can answer any questions!
