A total of 10 Canadian sailors will take part in the fourth Sailing Grand Slam regatta of the season, the 2026 edition of Kiel Week, set to be held June 20-24 in Kiel, Germany.

Four members of the Canadian Sailing Team will be in action at that competition: Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance (Chester, N.S.) in 49erFX, as well as Thomas and William Staples (Beaconsfield, QC) in 49er. Other Canadians taking part in the event are Louis Hupé (Rimouski, QC) in ILCA 7, Maura Dewey (Victoria, B.C.) in ILCA 6, Caspar Lenz Anderson (Calgary, AB) and Grace Poole (Victoria, B.C.) in Nacra 17, as well as Jack Gogan (Sydney, N.S.) and Hunter Hoy (Kirkland, QC) in 49er.

Un total de 10 athlètes canadiens en voile participeront à la quatrième régate des séries du Grand Chelem de la saison, l’édition 2026 de Kiel Week, qui aura lieu du 20 au 24 juin à Kiel, en Allemagne.

Quatre membres de l’équipe canadienne de voile seront en action lors de cette compétition : Antonia et Georgia Lewin-LaFrance (Chester, N.-É.) en 49erFX, ainsi que Thomas et William Staples (Beaconsfield, QC) en 49er. Congratulations to Canadian sailor Allan Clark who won the Great Grand Masters division out of 27 competitors at the 2026 ILCA 7 Masters World Championships held June 8-16 in Kalamaki, Greece. This is his 7th World Championship title. In the Grand Masters division, Duncan Pearce took the 4th position overall out of 33 sailors, while Patrick Wachholz finished in 9th place.

Allan Clark : champion du monde chez les Great Grand Masters en ILCA 7 2026

Félicitation au Canadien Allan Clark qui a mérité la victoire dans la division Great Grand Masters sur un total de 27 compétiteurs aux Championnats du monde des maîtres en ILCA 7 2026 présentés du 8 au 16 juin à Kalamaki, en Grèce. Il s'agit de son 7e titre de championnat du monde. Dans la division Grand Masters, Duncan Pearce a pris le 4e rang sur un total de 33 compétiteurs, alors que Patrick Wachholz a terminé au 9e rang.

2026 Keelboat/Cruising Instructor Evaluator Clinic ⛵ Stage de formation des évaluateurs d'instructeurs de quillards et de croisière 2026

The 2026 Keelboat/Cruising Instructor Evaluator (IE) Clinic took place May 22-24 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Led by Senior Instructor Evaluators John Gourlay and Dan Cloutier, a total of 15 candidates participated. This was the largest IE Clinic in recent years, with representation from British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.

The clinic was hosted at the Sport Nova Scotia office and included opportunities to engage with Sail Canada CEO Ryan Kelly and Sail Nova Scotia Executive Director Frank Denis.

Instructor Evaluators are instrumental in delivering and growing the Sail Canada Keel and Cruising program across Canada. We thank them for their commitment to Sail Canada's Keelboat and Cruising program!

Stage de formation des évaluateurs d'instructeurs de quillards et de croisière 2026

La clinique 2026 pour évaluateurs d’instructeurs de quillards et de croisière s’est déroulée du 22 au 24 mai à Halifax, en Nouvelle-Écosse. Dirigée par les évaluateurs d’instructeurs séniors John Gourlay et Dan Cloutier, elle a réuni un total de 15 candidats. Il s’agissait du plus grand stage d'évaluateurs d'instructeurs de ces dernières années, avec des participants venus de la Colombie-Britannique, de l’Ontario, du Québec et de la Nouvelle-Écosse.

La clinique s’est déroulée dans les locaux de Sport Nova Scotia et a permis aux participants de rencontrer le chef de la direction de Voile Canada, Ryan Kelly, et le directeur général de Sail Nova Scotia, Frank Denis.

Les évaluateurs d’instructeurs jouent un rôle clé dans la mise en œuvre et le développement du programme de quillards et de croisière de Voile Canada à travers le pays. Nous les remercions pour leur engagement envers ce programme!

First Canadian iQFoil Championship ⛵ Premier Championnat canadien en iQFoil

The first Canadian iQFoil Championship ran June 12-14 in Vancouver as a partnership between Sail Canada, BC Sailing, and the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. A total of 11 sailors from across North America, including nine from Canada, took part in the event and competed in 14 races in three days with outstanding conditions and 12-14 knots for the first two days and some lighter winds to finish. Canadian Sailing Team member Valentino Blewett won the event, followed by Xavier Ferlet from USA and Simón Fauser (RVanYC).

Premier Championnat canadien en iQFoil

Le premier Championnat canadien en iQFoil s'est déroulé du 12 au 14 juin à Vancouver à la suite d'un partenariat entre Voile Canada, BC Sailing et le Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. Un total de 11 athlètes de l'Amérique du Nord, dont neuf du Canada, ont participé à cet événement et compétitionné dans 14 courses en trois jours dans des conditions exceptionnelles et des vents de 12-14 nœuds pour les premiers deux jours, et des vents plus légers pour conclure. Le membre de l'équipe canadienne de voile Valentino Blewett a remporté la compétition, suivi de Xavier Ferlet (États-Unis) et de Simón Fauser (RVanYC).
