Heads up! 4D will be closed all day on June 9th, as the team will be enjoying some off-site professional development. We are looking forward to an enriching day, and seeing students on Wednesday!

Slowly and steadily, the 4D garden is growing!

Thanks to the hard work of our intern Mackenzie and Elder Betty (and in spite of the grackles and squirrels), we have some berries and feverfew growing plentifully! Pending a cooperative season, by the fall we will hopefully have lavender, chamomile, tomatoes, carrots, onions, a Three Sisters planter as well and more!

We are also growing to***co, sweetgrass and sage in our backyard!

If you are an Indigenous student graduating this June, you need to connect with 4D if you...
1. Want to receive a gift (on-stage, afterward or shipped to your home if you cannot make it!)
2. Wear regalia on stage rather than a convocation robe!
3. Attend a 4D reception!

The deadline to RSVP is June 5th. RSVP here: https://forms.office.com/r/0edUmWNkUk

Community is important, and we want all to feel welcome at Four Directions!
Each year we hire a Program Assistant to facilitate programming for our 2SLGBTQIA+ students and their guests. Our program assistant also has the opportunity to engage in collaborative work with university committees and campus partners like the Shift Project and Yellow House!

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is social, observant and sensitive to the comfort levels and needs of others. This dedicated position, which pays 18.60/hour, is for a 2SLGBTQIA+ Indigenous Queen's student, who is comfortable openly identifying as such!

SAGE is a program that happens across many universities, and is a peer-led initiative by Indigenous grad students, for Indigenous grad students!

Past SAGE programming include feasts, virtual coffee chats and the annual SAGE Writing Retreat at Wintergreen Studios!

Open to Indigenous Queen's Graduate Students, this role will pay $18.60/hour and has a flexible schedule to work within your schedule.

If you've been around 4D, or even have followed us on social media, you know that fires are a staple of our programming at 4D. The ability to host peer-led fires is something we're very proud to be able to offer!

The firekeeper team works very closely with our Elder and visiting Knowledge Keepers to receive teachings, and then run social and sacred fires. They also help maintain the tipi space and get hands on with Elder Betty, learning how to cook traditional foods.

We are hiring 2-3 firekeepers ($18.60/hour), and one Senior Firekeeper ($21.60/hour), and we encourage folks of all gender expressions to apply.
