ii. To engage in awareness raising campaigns on domestic violence and sexual assault as products of misogyny and unhealthy masculinity on campus. To maintain a feminist and inclusive framework in the work that we do. Article III: Affiliation with the Alma Mater Society (AMS)

The constitution of the AMS shall take precedence over this constitution. In particular, the following sections of the AMS constitution shall be recognized: 7.01, and 7.02

Article IV: Membership

Full members of the club shall consist of only current Queen’s students whom have paid their full slate of AMS or SGPS fees. The club executive team must be made of 70% of undergraduate students. The club must have contain 50% undergraduate students. All full members are liable to an annual membership fee prescribed by the Executive Committee at its first meeting each September and approved by the club as a whole. The Club Executives are responsible ensuring that all club members are current Queen’s students. The Club Executives are also responsible creating and maintaining a list of all club member with contact information that the AMS may call for at any time. Full AMS members have the right to vote at the meetings of the General Assembly, seek nomination and be elected to an AMS office. Article V: Structure of the Executive Committee

1.The Executive Committee consists of five Executive Officers elected annually by the members of the club.


2.The Executive Officers shall be: Chairperson, Alternate Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, and Public Relations Director.


3.The Executive Officers shall have such powers and duties as are assigned to them by the constitution and as may be delegated to them from time to time by resolution of the Executive Committee.


4.The Executive Committee shall serve as such without remuneration, and no Officers shall directly or indirectly receive any profits from their positions as such.


5.The quorum of Executive Committee shall be four of its Officers, one of whom must be the Chairperson or Alternate Chairperson; voting shall consist of a simple majority of those present.


6.The Executive Committee may create special sub-committees. At least one Executive Officer shall sit on any such committee.


7.The term of office of all Officers shall end on the 30th day of April each year. Article VI: Duties of the Executive Officers

1.Co-CHairs


a.To coordinate and oversee the work done by the executive committee. b.To organize hiring and engage in the applications process


c.To ensure that the organization is working under a feminist, anti-oppressive framework


d.To provide knowledge and resources to all executive, volunteers, and community members on the organization’s initiatives and campaigns.


2.Treasurer- The treasurer shall


a.Be the financial officer


b.Maintain all financial records and receive all money due to


c.Present a financial statement every month to the Executive Committee


d.Make a final report to the at the end of his/her term of office


e.Propose an estimated budget in September for all proposed activities for the year


f.To engage in all executive meetings and program planning.


3.Community Outreach Coordinator:


a.Work with and contact schools/NGOs/organizations with workshops proposals. b.Work with the White Ribbon head office for updated materials and news of events. c.Collaborate with other groups on campus for campus wide awareness campaigns.




4) Event Coordinator:

-Organize logistics for events.

-Put together content for workshops/events.

-Propose new event ideas to the core executive.

-Work with the Community outreach coordinator to plan events on campus and in the Kingston community. Article VII: Duties of the Executive Committee

1.The Executive Committee shall:


a.Hold its first meeting before the end of the September and thereafter every one week or as deemed necessary


b.Carry on the business of the Kingston Raise a Flag (Previously Queen’s White Ribbon) within the limitations of this constitution and its bylaws


c.Regularly seek the wishes of Kingston Raise a Flag (Previously Queen’s White Ribbon) members and always strive to honour them faithfully



Article VIII: Provisions for the Constitution of

1. Elections:


a.Executive members will be hired based on the decisions of the co-chairs through a formal interview application process for executive vacancies. b. Previous executive could maintain their positions for the following year if they please. Their success in this request will be determined by their work throughout the previous year and on the discretion of the co-chairs.


2.Impeachment


a.The Club President or any Officer / Member of the Executive may be removed from Office subject to the following conditions:


i.The member did not follow the position expections. ii.The member conducted work that was anti-feminist and/or oppressive


iii.The member would be impeached based on the discretion of the co-chairs. If the member is a co-chair, the executive along with the other cochair will be in charge of the decision.


3.Executive Committee Transitions


a.The newly elected Executive Officers shall request the serving Executive for all files and bank accounts of Kingston Raise a Flag (Previously Queen’s White Ribbon) before the 30th of April.


4.Financial Records:


a.All funds for Kingston Raise a Flag (Previously White Ribbon) are located in an account at: TD Canada Trust, Branch 139 - 5240022. Article IX: AMS Assembly

The AMS Assembly, as the highest legislative body representing students at Queen’s, constitutes the ultimate source of authority for the . Moreover, it can set up ad hoc committees with specific terms of reference to investigate financial matters and report to its next meeting. AMS Assembly retains the authority alongside the AMS Vice-President of University Affairs and the AMS Alternate Judicial Committee to de-ratify any club that violates the mandate of the Alma Mater Society and/or the Queen’s Code of Conduct. Article X: Funding

1.In accordance with section 7.02 of the AMS constitution, the recognizes it is eligible to receive either or both student activity fees and Assembly grants. Eligibility for receiving Club Grants shall be restricted to those student organizations receiving funding from neither student activity fees nor Assembly Grants. Any funding received from the Society shall be spent for the purpose for which it was requested.


2.The shall be eligible to fundraise and to receive donations. Fundraising efforts and donations in excess of $5,000 shall in all cases to be coordinated through the AMS President and Executive Director and the Queen’s University Office of Advancement business office. Article XI: Amendments

The constitution shall be reviewed annually and any amendments shall be immediately presented to the AMS for approval, through the Commission of Internal Affairs. Article XII: Volunteers & Participants

Club Volunteer means non-Queen’s students who assist in club affairs but do not host, manage, vote, or create club activities, events and policies. Clubs that have volunteers must have policies within their constitution to outline a volunteer’s relationship to the club. Club executives shall keep a detailed, up to date record of all club volunteers, including their name and relevant affiliation. Volunteers are part of the group on their own volition. Club Participant means students of Queen’s or non-Queen’s students who attend an event hosted by a club but have no other relationship with said club. Participant’s actions are their own and do not reflect the club. Participants are part of the group on their own volition.
