If you look up "legend" in the dictionary you'll see a picture of our Executive Director, Michelle McShane beside it.

Kicking off National Paddling Week in a massive way, Michelle is solo paddling from her front door through the lock system up to Ottawa. Starting with a 20km bike ride to meet her gear at Chaffey's Lock she's then kayaking up to Narrows Lock to end Day 1. From there it's off to Narrows Lock, Poonamalie, Upper Nicholson, Rideau River Park, Long Island, and ending at Hartwell Lock in Ottawa where she'll meet up with our friends at Canoe Kayak Canada ()!

Clocking in at around 170km this adventure is nothing short of inspirational. Michelle is setting the bar for backyard expeditions.
