🧡 Today, Teach Resilience recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. We acknowledge the profound and lasting impacts of residential schools, including the intergenerational trauma that continues to affect Indigenous individuals, families, and communities.

Trauma-informed practice begins with understanding. It asks us to listen, to recognize the experiences that shape people and communities, and to create spaces rooted in safety, respect, trust, and compassion.

Reconciliation requires more than acknowledgement. It requires an ongoing commitment to learning about the truths of our shared history, listening to Indigenous voices, and considering how our practices and systems can better support healing and wellbeing.

Today, we encourage everyone to take time to listen, learn, reflect, and continue that work beyond September 30.

We’re heading to Hamilton! 🚗☕

The Teach Resilience team is excited to be visiting Compass Community Health this November to deliver training and continue important conversations around trauma-informed approaches, resilience, and creating supportive environments.

We’re looking forward to connecting with the Compass team, sharing knowledge, learning from one another, and bringing practical strategies into the conversation.

Thank you to Compass Community Health for welcoming us. We can’t wait to see you in Hamilton!

A trauma-informed workplace isn’t just about policies or training. It’s reflected in the everyday ways we communicate, collaborate and support one another.

Clear expectations, predictable communication, meaningful choices, and asking instead of assuming can all help create environments where people feel safer, respected and supported.

Small shifts in how we work together can make a meaningful difference. 💜

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day

Today, Teach Resilience joins communities around the world in remembering those whose lives have been lost to overdose and acknowledging the families, friends and communities who carry that loss with them.

Overdose is not simply an individual issue. Trauma, adverse experiences, social connection, stigma and access to support can all play a role in a person’s story.

Understanding those connections helps us respond differently.

Through trauma-informed approaches, we can replace judgement with curiosity, stigma with compassion, and isolation with connection. We can create environments where people feel safer asking for help and where conversations about substance use are grounded in dignity and understanding.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those we’ve lost and continue working toward communities where compassion and connection come first. 💜

What does a Teach Resilience training actually look like?

It’s more than sitting through a presentation.

Our sessions combine research and practical strategies that participants can take back to their workplaces and communities.

We explore topics like trauma-informed approaches, resilience, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), regulation, and how our brains respond to stress and adversity.

Most importantly, we create space to ask questions, share experiences, and turn knowledge into practice.

Looking for training for your team or organization? Let’s start a conversation.

Resilience isn't only built during life's biggest challenges. It's strengthened in the everyday moments that help people feel safe, seen, and supported.

Small actions can make a lasting impact.
