Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we are thrilled to announce that we have officially reached our fundraising goal for our new playground swings! 💙

This project was made possible through the support of so many people—families, staff, community members, and local supporters who donated, attended events, purchased freezies, shared our posts, and cheered us on every step of the way.

We would like to extend a special thank you to several families whose exceptionally generous donations helped bring us across the finish line. Some have chosen to remain anonymous, and we are deeply grateful for their kindness and support.

Check out our latest scholastic order thanks to all of the money we were able to raise from the Scholastic Book Fair! We were able to order supplies for classrooms, like math manipulatives, cushions, wobble stools, etc. We also purchased a whole bunch of books, especially many new books en Français for our library! We thank you so much for your support!!

Grade 4/5 completed their Mock Trial with Mme Crawley for English class! We had so much fun with it and took it so seriously that it was even published in the Kincardine Independant!

We used The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith to set up a story. This children's book is told from the perspective of the wolf who believes he was framed! We explored the story as “evidence,” carefully analyzing both the illustrations and textual details to determine whether the wolf was truly guilty or simply misunderstood. The goal was to examine the book through the lens of critical thinking and media literacy, discussing important concepts such as bias, perspective, reliability, and how different people can interpret the same event in very different ways.

We then set up a full courtroom in our classroom with fancy table cloths and name cards! Every student had a role including both defence and prosecution lawyers, witnesses, jury members, media reporters, the bailiff, and even a newspaper writer! Students prepared opening statements, cross-examinations, evidence folders, and closing arguments while learning about the structure of the Canadian justice system and the importance of respectful debate.

They become deeply invested in their roles! We turned it into an hour and a half movie on YouTube and we had lots of laughs watching it back together. What a memorable learning experience.
