🎨 Artist of the Month for September is Janet Harpley-Aco of Artistic Approach Studio 🎨

Janet has always been artistic from a young age - she enjoys all mediums and forms of art including painting drawing, teaching art, murals, tattoos and sculpture - but focuses mostly on painting, prints, found materials and drawings.

Janet owns and operates an art studio (Artistic Approach Studio at 10 The Queensway South) where she holds art classes and workshops.

We’re so proud of our first ever summer camp group at the studio! You are all superstars 🎨.
The week is coming to a end and lots of art, games, laughing ,singing and friend making took place 😀

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Paul Harpley

I work in many mediums from painting (watercolour and acrylic) to drawing and sculpture. As a naturalist I explore and work to reflect my ecological perspective of life. I strive to bring attention to detail and overall design integrity together in impactful ways through art. I have drawn and painted landscapes and wildlife for over thirty years. I live in York Region near Lake Simcoe, where I do my artwork, and remain active in conservation initiatives in Canada and abroad.

My art reflects a passion for the land, lakes, and wildlife. As an established Canadian visual artist my original art is in private and corporate collections in Canada, U.S.A., Europe, and other countries. Limited edition reproductions of my work have made my artistic vision accessible to a broader public in recent decades.

Recently, my artwork has included new materials and methods of mixed media on paper and new alternative surfaces. This work has included interpreting important ecological and environmental subjects and processes. Originality and authenticity are focuses of my art practice, benefiting from my time spent in the wild for many years in diverse places.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Janet Harpley-Aco

I have always been artistic; from a young age being exposed to creative and talented people, and putting those experiences into practice while developing my own passion for fine art. I graduated from Georgian College’s Fine Arts program in 2007, and have been constantly honing my craft since; from painting, drawing, teaching art , murals – to tattoos, and sculpture, it is my true passion. I also own and operate a art studio, Artistic Approach Studio in Keswick ON, where we have art classes and workshops.

I enjoy working in all mediums and forms of art, and focus mostly on paintings, prints, found materials and drawings. My belief is that the constant bombardment of contemporary media is indelibly permanent and it is this daily observation of non-stop images that put a voice to my creative expression in my work.
