🎙️ Coming Thursday | Episode 7 of Healing Out Loud

The Mother Wound – Healing the Hurt That Was Never Meant to Be Yours

Some wounds begin long before adulthood.

In this deeply personal episode, I share how my mother leaving when I was fourteen shaped parts of my life in ways I didn’t understand until years later.

This isn’t about blame.

It’s about understanding where our pain began—and how we can begin to heal.

💛 If you’ve ever carried hurt from childhood, I hope you’ll join me.

The Sisters Place 💜

When Ellen got this place, I surprised her with a housewarming gift — a sign that simply said:

“The Sisters Place.”

It just seemed to fit.

A place by the water where sisters could gather, slow down, laugh, talk and simply enjoy being together. 💜

Little did we know that just months later, this same place would become part of the story behind Pod Sisters. 🎙️

Ellen and I were sitting here one day, doing what sisters do — talking — when one of those conversations turned into an idea:

What if we did a podcast together?

And just like that, the seed for Pod Sisters was planted.

I love that connection.

The Sisters Place came first.

And somewhere among the conversations, laughter and time spent together here, Pod Sisters began. 💜

Sometimes the best things really do grow from the moments you never planned.

Some of the hardest chains to break aren’t the ones we can see.

They’re the beliefs that tell us we’re not enough.

The habits that keep us stuck.

The fear of disappointing others.

The patterns we learned simply to survive.

For years, I lived that way.

Healing wasn’t about changing who I was.

It was about letting go of what no longer served me and rediscovering the person I was always meant to be.

That’s why I wrote Breaking the Chains.

My hope is that it helps you recognize your own patterns, heal the wounds of your past, reclaim your worth, and embrace the freedom to live your life fully.

You are not defined by your past.

You are not limited by your pain.

And it’s never too late to begin again.

📚 Breaking the Chains is available through the link in my bio.

Which pattern have you worked hardest to break?

🎙️ Well…we did it! Pod Sisters is officially LIVE! 💜

I have to admit, I was so scared to do a visual podcast. 😬

I’m comfortable behind a microphone, but being on camera felt completely different. There was something vulnerable about being seen and letting go of worrying about how everything looked.

But I decided to just show up as myself—and I’m so glad I did.

Today, my sister Ellen and I officially launched Pod Sisters! 💜

And if you’re wondering where that name came from…there’s a special family story behind it. 😉 You’ll have to listen to Episode 1 to find out.

🎧 Episode 1 is LIVE now on Spotify!

I’ll put the link in the comments.

I hope you’ll give us a listen and come along on this new adventure with us. 💜

Two sisters. Two perspectives. Real conversations. A lifetime of stories.

🎙️ Coming Thursday: The very first episode of Pod Sisters! 💜

What happens when two sisters sit down, press record and simply start talking?

In our first episode, Ellen and I share how Pod Sisters came to be, the story and family connection behind the name, and how one spontaneous idea turned into something we’re both excited to explore.

And because our conversations aren’t scripted, we naturally find ourselves talking about relationships, life experiences and the different perspectives we’ve gained along the way.

No rehearsing. No perfect answers. Just two sisters having the kinds of conversations we’ve always had — only now, there’s a microphone between us. 🎙️

Pod Sisters — Episode 1 launches Thursday.

Two sisters. Two perspectives. Real conversations. A lifetime of stories.

🎙️ Episode 6 of Healing Out Loud is now live!

Self-Sabotage – Why Do We Get in Our Own Way?

For years, I believed self-sabotage meant there was something wrong with me.

But looking back, I can see something different.

My eating disorder.

Running from relationships.

Living in fear of being abandoned again.

None of those behaviours were because I was weak.

They were my way of trying to protect myself.

One of the most powerful realizations in my healing journey was this:

I wasn’t avoiding pain. I was prolonging it.

In this episode, I share my personal story and explore why we repeat the patterns that keep us stuck—and how awareness is the first step toward healing.

🎧 Listen now wherever you enjoy your podcasts.

💛 If this episode speaks to you, I’d love for you to share it with someone who may need to hear this message.

👀 Something New Is Coming… 🎙️💕

If you’ve been following Healing Out Loud, you know how much I value honest conversations about the experiences that shape us.

Now I’m making room for another kind of conversation—one with a little more laughter, a lot of memories, and someone who has known me almost my entire life… my sister. 💕

Introducing POD SISTERS. 🎙️

Growing up, our grandfather called the four of us sisters “four peas in a pod.” Over the years we each had a “PEA” name that we often refer to. All these years later, two of those peas are sitting down together to talk about life.

Pod Sisters will complement Healing Out Loud in a different way. There will still be meaningful conversations, but also plenty of fun, nostalgia, different perspectives, sisterly banter and stories from a lifetime of knowing each other.

Some conversations will make you think. Others will simply make you laugh. And I’m pretty sure we’ll disagree once or twice along the way. 😂

This week, we’ve been talking about betrayal.

Betrayal has a way of leaving us questioning our worth, our relationships, and sometimes even ourselves.

I’ve learned that while betrayal can shape us, it doesn’t have to define us.

That truth is at the heart of my book, Heal the Pain.

Inside, I share my journey through parental abandonment, betrayal, an eating disorder, and the path that led me from surviving to healing. My hope is that if you see parts of your own story in mine, you’ll also discover that healing is possible.

Your past is part of your story, but it doesn’t have to write the ending.

📚 Heal the Pain is available on Amazon.

💛 I’d love to know… what has helped you heal from life’s deepest hurts?

08/06/2026

🎙️ A snippet from the latest episode of Healing Out Loud.

Betrayal doesn’t just break our trust in other people.

Sometimes, it breaks the trust we have in ourselves.

But one of the most powerful truths I’ve learned is this:

Someone else’s betrayal is a reflection of their choices—not your value.

Healing begins when we stop defining ourselves by what someone else did and start believing we are still worthy of love, respect, and peace.

Listen to Episode 5: Betrayal – When the People You Love Hurt You for the full conversation.

💛 Have you ever had to learn to trust yourself again after being hurt? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
