📚 Why We Read Before We Transition 🧡

Story time is much more than just reading a book—it's an intentional part of our daily routine.

After a busy afternoon of play, and excitement, gathering together for a story helps children slow their minds and bodies before moving into the next activity.

This simple transition supports children by:
📖 Encouraging active listening and focus
🧠 Giving brains a chance to reset after a busy day
💬 Building vocabulary, language, and early literacy skills
❤️ Creating a calm, predictable routine that helps children feel safe and connected
🤝 Bringing everyone together as a group before moving on to the next adventure

Stories also spark imagination, curiosity, laughter, and meaningful conversations.

Whether we're exploring new characters, solving problems, or simply enjoying a favourite book, every story creates opportunities for learning and connection.

Sometimes the quietest moments become the most meaningful ones. 💙

🎨✨ Creativity was flowing today at the Kentville After School Program!
Our kiddos had a wonderful time visiting the Tides Art Gallery in downtown Kentville. The children enjoyed exploring a variety of beautiful artwork, learning about different artistic styles, and discovering how creativity can be expressed in so many unique ways.

Experiences like these help spark imagination, encourage meaningful conversations, and strengthen our connection to the amazing community we are fortunate to be part of.

We had a fun filled day of group reading, crafts, Lego, Easter masks, pom pom chick and bunnies, beaver bot, outdoor playing, dancing and more !
