🌿✨ What an incredible day at Keewatin Public School! ✨🌿
Today, our students and staff had the privilege of celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day at Strecker Farms, and it was truly unforgettable. From meaningful learning experiences to laughter, connection, and time spent on the land, the day was filled with moments that will stay with us for a long time.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible, we appreciate the planning, care, and heart that went into every detail. ❤️
Days like today remind us of the importance of learning together, honouring Indigenous voices, and continuing our journey toward understanding and reconciliation.

Mrs. Randell's and Mrs. Appleby's classes had the best time visiting Keewatin Place today! The students got a cool behind the scenes tour of the store and loved learning about all the different departments, the neat products, and all the different jobs it takes to run the shop.
The absolute best part was ending the tour with a super delicious treat!
A massive thank you to the awesome staff at Keewatin Place for being so welcoming and making our day so much fun!

🌊💙 Water Day at KPS! 💙🌊
Although the weather kept us on our toes, today was the perfect reminder that when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade! 🍋 Even with a few chilly and unpredictable moments, our students’ smiles truly said it all.
From splashes of laughter to quick warm-up breaks inside, the energy and joy never stopped. And thank goodness for those warm French fries, perfect for warming hands and hearts! 🍟😊
A huge shout-out to Mr. Jeswiet for his incredible dedication and organization in making this day possible. Your hard work made a lasting impact! 👏
Thank you as well to all of our amazing staff who supported and brought this fun-filled event to life. Together, we created core memories our students will carry with them for years to come. 💫

Today, Keewatin Public School showed incredible spirit by engaging in Jump Rope for Heart activities! ❤️ Students and staff came together to stay active while giving back, with all funds raised going to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We are so proud of this amazing demonstration of service to others! What a great time had by all for an important cause! 👏

June is Pride Month at KPDSB!

Since 1969, Pride Month has been observed throughout the month of June to honour the Stonewall Riots: a series of protests from 2SLGBTQ+ activists in Manhattan, in which they advocated for equal political rights and representation. Interestingly, in Canada, Bill C-150 was passed only one day before the Stonewall Riots occurred to legally decriminalize homosexuality, marking a monumental shift in 2SLGBTQ+ rights across the nation. Since then, Pride Month serves as a reminder of the 2SLGBTQ+ community’s continuous fight for freedom and equality.

We are proud to raise the Pride flag at every school across KPDSB this month in celebration of 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff, families, and communities. At KPDSB, we believe in creating safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces for everyone—this month and every month.
