🎨 40 Years of French Immersion, Celebrated in Art! 🌿✝️

Something very special is waiting for students at École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys this September!

To celebrate 40 years of excellence in French Immersion, the SMB Parent Council commissioned an incredible new mural by artist . Hidden throughout the artwork are 40 crosses, one for every year of SMB’s story. Can you find them all? 👀

And the mural will continue to grow! 🌳 Grade 6 graduates from the past 10 years will have their names added to leaves on the trees, creating a lasting tribute to generations of SMB students.

A huge thank you to for bringing this beautiful and meaningful tribute to life. What an incredible way to celebrate 40 years of SMB!

We can’t wait for our students to see it on their first day back! 💙

🌟🌸That’s a wrap on Summer Learning! Students built their math and literacy skills while also having opportunities for hands-on learning and making new connections with students from other schools.🌸🌟

Thank you to OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) for supporting our cupcake decorating and woodworking activities, where students sanded, hammered, and built their own projects.

🐕‍🦺A special thank you to the volunteers from Therapeutic Paws of Canada for making it possible for every student to participate in the Paws to Read program. Students also created calming jars while learning about mindfulness and self-regulation.

🌻Our board’s summer learning program has a great time in the kitchen making strawberry rhubarb tarts!🥧

Our french and primary students practiced valuable baking skills like measuring ingredients, safely cutting fruit, and the value of patience as they waited for their creations to bake. A big thank you to Mrs Favreau for sharing her baking expertise and guiding everyone through the process. 🌟

We can’t wait to show you what our junior group will be cooking up later this week!

☀️ Thinking ahead to September?

At École Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys, students are inspired to learn, grow, and thrive in a caring Catholic school community while developing confidence in both of Canada's official languages through French Immersion.

Registration remains open throughout the summer, and we look forward to welcoming new and returning students this fall. Personal school tours will resume after August 24, when our staff return for the new school year.
