We are beginning to plan for our 2026–2027 sacramental preparation programs. First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are typically celebrated by children in Grade 2 and above, while Confirmation is typically celebrated by children in Grade 7 and above. If you are interested in having your child/children participate, we invite you to complete our Expression of Interest form. This is not registration, but it will help us plan for the year ahead and ensure you receive information when registration opens in September. Please contact the parish office if you have any questions.

Honouring Mrs. Joyce Cavanagh, Retiring Holy Cross Teacher💫✨💫
This June, our hearts were incredibly full as we celebrated Mrs. Joyce Cavanagh, who has given her entire career and her whole heart to Holy Cross since 1998. From her early years in the Primary division to her deeply impactful work in Special Education over the last decade, Joyce leaves behind a legacy of deep kindness and being the biggest cheerleader for every child who walked through her door!
Joyce is so excited to kick off this next chapter with her husband, Mike, her three kids, Brendan, Keelan and Connor, and her sweet granddaughters, Shanley and Grace. If you think retirement means slowing down, you don't know Joyce! She’s trading recess duty for a schedule that would tire out an Olympian, with plans for travel, volunteering, yoga, pickleball, forest walks, fall bike rides, and finally mastering sourdough.
Congratulations, Mrs. Cavanagh! 🎉

Honouring Mrs. Katherine Vallat-Murphy, Retiring Holy Cross Teacher💫✨💫
This June, we said a bittersweet farewell to Mrs. Katherine Vallat-Murphy after an incredible 30-year career. Since joining the Holy Cross family back in 1998, Katherine has made such a difference as both a classroom teacher and a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT)—not to mention her status as a fiercely competitive pillar of our staff pickleball crew! 😊
Katherine is so excited to start this next chapter with her husband, Mark, and her kids, Liam, Johanna, and Matthew. She’s happily trading recess duty for travel, gardening, plenty of pickleball, and quality family time.
Thank you, Katherine, for everything you've given to Holy Cross! We hope this next chapter brings you endless joy, rest, new adventures and all the sweet moments you've earned.
Congratulations, Mrs. Vallat-Murphy! 🎉

Honouring Mrs. Melanie Stratton, Retired Holy Cross Teacher ✨💫
After many years of making our school a warmer place, Mrs. Melanie Stratton retired in January 2026. Melanie started her teaching journey back in 1993, later spending six wonderful years at Holy Cross. After a break to raise her daughters, Julia and Ashley, she spent 13 great years at St. Francis de Sales in Smiths Falls before returning to Holy Cross from 2020 to 2026 to wrap up her incredible career.
Melanie has officially traded lesson plans for rest and relaxation! She and her husband, Brian, are ready for a retirement filled with family, friends, and wellness. Melanie can't wait to dive into new adventures and hobbies, from Tai Chi and fitness to needle felting, art, and making maple syrup.
Congratulations, Mrs. Stratton! 🎉
