When we read the book Emergency by Margaret Mayo π one day at school it really dove deep into all the different kinds of emergency vehiclesπππ and all the different kinds of emergencies one could have
-from a flood π to a fire π₯ or to a robbery π¨
Of course, that led to another great idea for an art project π‘! The children could choose whether to create an RCMP police car π or a fire truck π
They designed, cut, and decorated everything-from the ladders πͺ to the sirens π¨ -and they turned out amazingly ππΌ
And of course, they had to tell us where their emergency vehicle was off to, what emergency they were responding to, and describe it in detail π
We truly have the most fun job getting to hear their incredible ideas and watch them come to fruition right before our eyes π
Just another wonderful example of how we incorporate literacy π art βοΈ and creativity π§ into our preschool classroom. π«ΆπΌ

It all started with a book about a little hedgehog π¦
Soon, our class were busy bringing him to lifeβcomplete with a bright red toque!
βοΈ From drawing his round body to creating his sweet face and snipping a fringe for his prickly quills, each hedgehog was full of personality.
To extend the learning π§ we asked the children to use their imaginations and tell us what they thought happened next in the story. Loved the responses π€

Today our preschoolers truly sleighed the stage! πΆβ€οΈ
Our Christmas concert was filled with jolly cheer, bright smiles, and BIG little hearts. These kiddos worked very hard on challenging songs and gave it everything they hadβevery lyric, every move, and every enthusiastic shake of those pom-poms! πβ¨
As teachers, we could not be more proud. Watching their confidence and joy shine was the greatest gift we could ask for. ππ
Now for the funny partβ¦ do I have any pictures or videos of them singing on stage or backstage? Nope! ππ± My phone was proudly plugged into the sound system doing important concert business. The only other pictures I managed to take were of the delicious cookies made by Dani πͺπ (priorities, right?).
The only stage photo we have is of the dΓ©cor before everyone arrivedβwhich just proves how magical and busy the rest of the show truly was! π
π Families please tag us in any photos you took πΈ
Thank you, families, for your supportβand bravo to our little superstars! ππΊπππΌπ«ΆπΌ
