For families affected by the wildfires ❤️

To any mom, parent, or family in our community who has been evacuated, displaced, or affected by the local wildfires — we would love to offer you a free drop-in class at Birth to Barbells.

Right now, many families are carrying an overwhelming amount of loss, uncertainty, stress, and anxiety. While a workout can’t change what’s happening, we hope our space can offer a small sense of normalcy, connection, and support during a really difficult time.

Come move your body, take a breath, and be surrounded by people who understand the challenges of parenting through hard seasons.

And please know: you do not need to come to exercise. If a workout feels like too much right now, you are still welcome to come, sit, bring a coffee or water, chat with other moms, bring your little ones, and simply be part of a welcoming and supportive community.

📍 Birth to Barbells
📅 August 10-14

If you or someone you know has been affected by the fires, send us a message and we’ll help get you booked in.

This community has always shown up for one another, and we want to do the same. ❤️

✨ There is no expiration date on postpartum. ✨

Some moms join us at 6 weeks postpartum. Others come when their baby is 6 months... 12 months... or even a toddler.

And that’s okay.

Your body doesn’t stop deserving care just because time has passed.

At our gym, babies of all ages are welcome to come along with you. Whether they’re snoozing in a carrier, rolling around on a blanket, or happily exploring beside you, they’re welcome here—as long as you’re able to supervise them and keep them safe throughout class.

We know every family’s timeline looks different. Maybe you weren’t ready earlier. Maybe life got busy. Maybe childcare wasn’t available. Whatever brought you here now, we’re just glad you’re here.

💛 Postpartum doesn’t have an end date.
💛 Strength doesn’t have a deadline.
💛 You are always welcome.

Bring your baby. Meet other moms. Move your body. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready.

You wouldn’t expect your body to run a marathon the day after giving birth... so why do so many moms expect themselves to jump right back into heavy lifting?

One of the biggest misconceptions postpartum is that if you feel strong, your core and pelvic floor are automatically ready for heavy loads. The reality? The way your body creates pressure and stability changes dramatically during pregnancy and postpartum.

Before pregnancy, your diaphragm, deep core muscles, and pelvic floor worked together like a pressure system to create a strong, supportive brace. During pregnancy, your growing baby changes the position and function of these muscles, stretches connective tissue, and places significant load on your pelvic floor. After birth, that system often needs to be retrained—not just strengthened.

If you start lifting heavy before learning how to properly brace postpartum, you may be placing excessive pressure on tissues that are still healing. This can contribute to symptoms like:
✨ Leaking urine during exercise
✨ Feelings of heaviness or pressure in the pelvis
✨ Core doming or coning
✨ Persistent low back pain
✨ Difficulty rebuilding strength

The goal isn’t to avoid lifting heavy forever. In fact, we want moms to feel strong, powerful, and confident under a barbell again.

But first, we teach your body how to manage pressure, connect to your core, and create an effective brace for your postpartum body—not your pre-pregnancy body.

Because postpartum fitness isn’t about doing less.
It’s about building the right foundation so you can safely do more.

Have you ever been told how to brace postpartum, or were you just told to “engage your core”? 👇
