Sonu's Little Gardeners 🥬
Our little learners had a wonderful time exploring the world of plants this week. We learned about how plants grow, and shared ideas and stories about gardening during gathering time. The children became little gardeners as they planted their very own flowers.🌺 This hands on experience encouraged responsibility, patience and a deeper connection to nature.
The children enjoyed imaginative play in our pretend garden market and sensory bin, harvesting and selling vegetables while building social and communication skills.
What a fun-filled week of planting, exploring, and growing together. 🪴

Madi's Busy Bees
During our Bees exploration, the children did honeycomb print making having the opportunity to create art outside the scope of brushes and paint. We used bubble wrap to create an interesting texture and sensory opportunity. When the children explored running their fingers along the bubbles, and the paint squished between. The teachers helped them applying both a little and a lot of pressure to their prints, pointing out the difference in the image. We introduced a new shape concept, hexagon. This activity scaffolds future independent creativity, vocabulary, and fine motor skills.

🐝Bee Happy 🐝
The Pre-K learning environment was thoughtfully arranged around a bumblebee theme, incorporating sensory trays, decorative visuals, and hands-on materials. Children engaged with textured items such as yellow sensory chickpeas , bees, and tongs , exploring cause-and-effect as they poured, scooped, and manipulated materials. The inclusion of bee figures, flowers, and honeycomb shapes encouraged imaginative play, numeracy, and thematic connections. The lemonade station promoted pretend play and social interaction, with children experimenting with scooping, mixing, and role-playing real-life experiences.
Learning Outcomes:
Sensory Development: Children explored varied textures, strengthening tactile awareness and fine motor skills.
Cognitive Skills: Engagement with themed materials supported early problem-solving, sorting, and symbolic thinking.
Language Development: Opportunities for discussion and role-play promoted vocabulary related to bees, nature, and food.
Social-Emotional Growth: Shared play encouraged cooperation, turn-taking, and imaginative expression.
Connection to Nature: The bee and flower theme fostered awareness of insects and their role in the environment.
