Position: Child Care Center Manager Maternity Leave Cover – Full time
Job Description:
Grins and Giggles Child Care Center is seeking an Early Childhood Manager to join our team in a Christian based center. Our current manager is going on maternity leave in July 2024, so we are looking for someone with a valid BC ECE, management/leadership skills and the ability to work as a team in a Christian environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate
• Child First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Criminal Record Check
• 3 reference contacts or letters
• Ability to work as a team in a Christian environment, positive attitude and leadership skills.
• Leadership and communication skills, along with a approachable manner towards parents and colleagues.
• Ability to manage a team of educators
• Strong administration and computer skills
• Knowledge of the childcare licensing regulations in BC
Job Duties:
The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Leading a team of certified Early Childhood Educators
• Maintain a welcome and communicative relationship with children, families, colleagues and board members.
• Overseeing the centers operations and creating a positive work environment
• Maintain and update centers policy and procedures
• Maintain an up to code facility for annual inspections by Interior Health
• Taking care of administrative tasks, such as daily emails, phone calls, parent appointments, staff schedule, payroll, government funding, enrolment, etc.
• Ensure all programs planned and designed are age-appropriate for the designated age group.
• Regular reporting to the Board of Directors and attendance at the meetings
• Providing nurturing, Christian based, and child directed care for children aged 0-5 year old.
• Assist in classrooms, along with covering breaks
Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday
Contract: June/July 2024 – July/August 2025
Wage: $29-$30/hr + ECEWE (Based on experience)
