Last week, our Echo children had fun building Mat Man! 🧒✨

Mat Man is part of our Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) curriculum. Through building, singing, and drawing Mat Man, children learn about body awareness, shapes, lines, and spatial concepts—important foundational skills that connect to early drawing and writing. ✏️💛

Learning to write starts long before pencil meets paper!

💕 Play is a BIG part of learning at Echo! This month, we’re exploring lines, curves, and fine motor play to get little fingers ready for our Handwriting Without Tears lessons. ✏️🌈

Learning through play, one little line and curve at a time! 💛

🐦🎉 Tweet, tweet… we have new friends at Echo!

Meet our two adorable new budgies at our Sutherland Ave location! 💛💚

The children will help choose their names and care for their new feathered friends. 🐦💕

What should we name them? 👀

At Echo, we make early learning fun, hands-on, and meaningful. 💛 We use Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) for early writing and printing, along with Jolly Phonics sounds and actions to bring letters to life.

At Echo Childcare in Kelowna, we believe that learning should be fun, engaging, and meaningful for young children. Whether children attend our Multiage or 3–5 program, both of our Kelowna childcare locations follow the same preschool curriculum, teaching approach, and policies.

One of the ways we make early literacy exciting is by incorporating Jolly Phonics songs, sounds, and actions into our preschool program.

🍂 Fall Weather Reminder 🍂

Dear Echo Families,

With the cooler and wetter fall weather arriving, please make sure your child has weather-appropriate clothing at daycare.

Please send extra socks to keep in your child’s cubby and a Muddy Buddy/rain suit for outdoor play on wet and muddy days.

We love getting outside whenever the weather allows, and having the right gear helps keep everyone warm, dry, and comfortable.

Thank you for helping us stay ready for fall! 🍁
