I became a mom at 20 years old. I had no idea what I was doing, just a heart full of love and a baby in my arms. James changed everything. He made me a mom, and since then, life has been one wild, beautiful ride.
Now I’ve got three amazing kids, James, Charles, and Adeline, and we’ve built a life that’s anything but traditional. We homeschool, we worldschool, we travel, we learn together every day in the realest, rawest ways. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling. I get a front-row seat to their growth, their questions, their wonder. It’s a gift I never take for granted.
But I don’t do this alone. My husband, my steady, loyal, loving partner, he’s the reason I can do any of this. He shows up every day for us. He allows me to me the mom I am but also be the woman I want to be. He works so hard and gives so much, and I’m endlessly thankful for the man and father he is.
And I need to give love to the women in my life who have held me up through it all. My mom, who answers every call, literally 50 times a day, and always has the right words or the recipe or the reminder I need. My mother-in-law, who stepped in during the hardest moments and who raised the kindest, strongest man I now get to raise kids with. She’s also an incredible grandma and our kids adore her.
And my sisters, moms themselves, who understand the sleepless nights, the meltdowns, the wins, the doubts. We lift each other up and motherhood would be so much harder without them.
Today I’m just feeling extra grateful. For my kids. For the life we’re living. For the village that surrounds us. Happy Mother’s Day to the moms raising babies, raising themselves, and raising each other. I see you. I’m with you. I’m thankful for you.
When your kids are fighting but don’t want to get involved… 😅🫠
Quand tes enfants se chicanent mais que tu veux pas t’en mêler 😅
When you know, you know 🙏🏼😂
Traveling full time is saying goodbye all the time for the benefit of your little family.
Anyone else? Tell me i’m not alone, please!? 😅
You know that stressful school morning routine?
The one where everyone’s yelling, you’re trying to make breakfast, find clothes, pack lunches…
Your anxiety is up, your blood pressure’s through the roof, and the day hasn’t even started yet.
Yeah… I remember that too.
And if that’s you right now, I just want to say, homeschooling changed everything for us.
One of the biggest perks of homeschooling?
There’s no rush in the morning.
Your kids can wake up naturally.
You can sip your coffee while they draw or play or watch cartoons.
You can make breakfast without the chaos.
You can start your day slow, head to the museum, hang out at the park, meet other homeschool families…
And you do school when it works best for your kid’s rhythm.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.
You will have hard days.
You’ll break up fights, feel tired, maybe even guilty for not doing “enough.”
But you will be there.
You’ll be present in their memories.
You’ll build something beautiful together.
So if you’ve been thinking about homeschooling, just try it.
It’s not a forever decision.
Give it six months, or a year.
And who knows… you might fall completely in love with it.
