The final application deadline for the MDes program is fast approaching for the May 2025 start date.

This 12-month professional program connects engineers, designers, artists, and social scientists, and provides them with the opportunity to experience design thinking and human-centered approaches that address challenges facing society – both locally and globally.

We are looking for our first cohort of people working towards solving critical problems facing humanity. Join us and be a part of a community of changemakers who are redefining what it means to be a master of design.

MDes Application Information Sessions Want a professional degree in design? Applications are now open to come study at UBC Okanagan in our Master of Design (MDes) program. We are looking for our first cohort of people working towards solving critical problems facing humanity. Our goal is to help you do that.

Over the last six months, MDes Director, Megan Smith, and Communications Strategist, Shauna Oddleifson, worked with local designer Chris Bingham from Cyan Bold Design to create a new visual identity for the MDes program.

Chris Bingham, CDPTM, is the graphic designer responsible for Cyan Bold Design in Kelowna, BC. Chris works as a brand strategist and consultant, a role that involves bridging the gap between marketing and design. This new visual identity can be seen throughout our web site, in our digital marketing, and will soon show up on new tote bags, t-shirts and other items for giveaways.

The MDes aims to provide a supportive environment that fosters creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurial spirit to design solutions that can change the world.
