Do you feel like you need a crutch just to get through the day?
If something feels off but you can't quite name it — if you're reaching for food, scrolling, staying busy, isolating, or people-pleasing just to get through each day — I want to talk to you.
I'm Dallas Brunette, and on September 24th at 6pm, I'm hosting a free webinar called Attention Women: Rewire Your Nervous System for Calm. You'll find it on Eventbrite or Luma.
I'm going to walk you through why your coping patterns aren't character flaws — they're your nervous system trying to protect you. And I'll share some of what's underneath those patterns — the beliefs driving them, and what it actually takes to work with your body, not just your mindset.
I want as many women as feel called to come. Come to be around other women. Come to be supported. Come to be seen.

Woman-Centered Certified Coach helping women understand and transform the coping mechanisms that develop after trauma, difficult life experiences, and major life changes.
Are you living your life or just managing it?
Be honest.
Getting through Monday so you can get to Friday.
Keeping everyone else okay so you don't have to look at yourself.
Staying busy enough that the quiet never catches up with you.
That's managing. And it's exhausting.
Living is something else entirely. It's when you stop white-knuckling your way through the week and start actually asking — why does this keep happening? What am I really carrying? What would my life feel like if I put some of this down?
One question can change everything.
What's yours? 💜

That thing that stops you from walking into a room with confidence, signing up for that class, starting that diet, or trying the thing you've been putting off — the voice that says you're not good enough — the habit of shrinking back when every part of you wants to step forward?
That's not a character flaw. That's your nervous system doing exactly what it was trained to do — protect you from something it once learned was dangerous.
But here's what's also true: every positive step you take sends your nervous system a new message. That you're safe. That you can handle this. That things are okay.
Going to the gym. Talking to yourself a little kinder today. Walking into that room like you belong there — even when part of you doesn't believe it yet.
It all counts. Every single step.
You don't have to overhaul your life to start changing it. You just have to take one positive step in the direction of who you're becoming. 💜
This is exactly the work we do together. Free 30-minute discovery call — link in bio.
I started this course two months before my dad was shot and killed. I took it three times. I pushed through grief, through trauma, through a murder trial, through my own healing — all while trying to become the coach I knew I was meant to be.
Seven years. Three rounds. Somewhere around forty thousand dollars. 😅
Yesterday it all hit me at once — everything I had been through to get here. And I say this as someone who tells women not to just push through — sometimes the perseverance IS the healing. Sometimes that inner strength you built from the hardest things in your life is exactly what carries you to where you're supposed to be.
I wouldn't be the coach I am without everything that broke me open. I wish things had happened differently. But without them, I wouldn't be able to sit across from a woman who has been through something and say — I know. I really know. And we can find a way through this.
To every woman who thinks it's taking too long, who's wondering if it's worth it — keep going. 💜
I'm finally here. And I have never more ready to help.

Summer has a way of sweeping you right up, doesn't it?
One minute it's June and you have all these intentions, and then suddenly it's August and you look up and think — where did that go?
I'll be honest, it got me too this year. Life got full, and some things got put on the back burner. And I've been noticing something in myself — when life gets busy, the first things to go are usually the ones that fill us back up.
Sound familiar?
Here's what I want you to sit with this week: busyness can feel productive. It can feel necessary. But sometimes it's also the thing we hide behind so we don't have to slow down and feel what's underneath.
Even in the middle of a full, beautiful, messy summer — you deserve a moment that's just yours. Don't forget to take it! 💜

Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is push past the resistance and just show up.
Yesterday I watched my grandkids bowl. I watched them run around the park. I took about a hundred pictures of tiny moments that I know I'll keep forever.
And by the end of the day, my whole spirit had shifted.
There's something about getting around the people who genuinely light you up — whoever that is for you — that nothing else can replicate. Not the scrolling, not staying busy, not any of the things we reach for when we're feeling low. This is different. It fills something real.
And here's what I know as a coach: choosing to get around people who make you feel alive? That's a coping mechanism too. One of the healthy ones. 💜
Who are the people in your life that leave you feeling like that? Go find them this week.
Funny Friday😂
Big dog energy... until the door opens. 😂 The nail trim breakdown. The masks. I cannot. 😭
Honestly though — dogs have zero coping mechanisms for inconvenience and I respect it. Full meltdown, no apology. Maybe we could all take notes. 😂
Happy Friday everyone — whatever your week looked like, you made it. Go find your people and laugh a little. 💜

What if I told you the thing standing between you and that life isn't a lack of willpower, or the wrong habits, or needing to try harder?
It's a story. One you've been telling yourself for so long you stopped noticing it's even there.
Things like — this is just who I am. Or I've always been this way. Or the quieter ones, the ones you barely let yourself think: I'm not sure I deserve different.
That's where I do my work. Not at the surface — the patterns, the habits, the things you keep trying to change and can't. Underneath. At the belief that built them in the first place.
You don't need a plan. You don't need to be ready. You just need to be a little bit curious about why your life feels the way it does.
That curiosity? That's enough. 💜

What do you do when you've been looking forward to something — you're excited, you're ready — and then it gets postponed?
Do you instantly get upset? Do you let it take you down for the rest of the day?
I had two podcasts I was so excited about, and both got postponed. And instead of spiraling, I just thought — the next one will be just as great. Things happen for a reason.
But here's what I want you to notice: that moment — when things don't go your way — that's where your coping mechanisms show up. That's where you see how you actually handle stress.
So pay attention. What happens in your body? What's your first instinct? Because those little reactions, the ones that happen every day — they're telling you something about how your nervous system is wired. And that awareness? That's where things start to shift.
Just something to think about. 💜

What's one thing you keep telling yourself you'll do when things settle down? What if things never settle down? 💜
We're so good at putting ourselves last. Waiting for the right time. Waiting until the kids are older, until work slows down, until life feels less chaotic.
But what if the wait is the problem?
At Phoenix Rising Coaching I work with women who are ready to stop waiting and start understanding why they keep getting in their own way. Sometimes it's not about finding the right time — it's about understanding the patterns that keep convincing you it's not time yet.
What's one thing YOU keep putting off? Drop it in the comments — I'd love to hear. 💜
