OCSU - Kelowna

OCSU - Kelowna We are OCSU on the Kelowna Campus of Okanagan College. We're Local 1 of the British Columbia Federat

The Okanagan College Students' Union (OCSU), is a non-profit organization formed by students, for students. The membership of the organization is made up of all Okanagan College Students from the Penticton, Kelowna, and Salmon Arm campuses. There are two basic purposes to the OCSU, or indeed any Students' Union: firstly, to provide services to our members on a non-profit basis, and secondly, to advocate on behalf of our members.

YOUR VOICE. YOUR SAY. YOUR OCSU

What could make student life better?
What issues are students facing right now?
What support do you want to see from OCSU?

Bring it to the table.

OCSU Board Meetings are your opportunity to speak up, bring forward student issues, hear our project updates and help shape the support and services your Students’ Union provides. Attend a Board meeting, have a voice in the conversation, and see first firsthand from last year’s board what these board meetings look like and are all about!

🗓️ Board meetings are held online via Zoom

💻 Want to attend? Email OCSU to register and receive the Zoom meeting link.

Don’t just be part of the student experience — help shape it.

Your experience matters. Your ideas matter. Your voice matters.

It’s officially fall… are you ~falling~ in love? Wondering if you’re ~falling~ behind in your relationships? (Ok, we’ll stop with the puns). But in all seriousness, let’s talk about healthy relationships. How do you tell if someone is a red flag or a green flag? How do you know if your relationship is healthy or not? We’ll be exploring these questions and more at our Healthy Connections event this Thursday. We’ll also be sharing information on consent best practices, free onsite STI testing, and other resources related to healthy relationships and sexual violence prevention.

Date: October 1
Time: 10:30-12:30
Location: E building atrium

WHOMST is excited for free pancakes!!! 🥞 🙋🥞🙋
The Okanagan Mission Lions Club will be serving ‘em up hot and fresh on the food truck pad starting at 7:30AM, alongside free coffee and juice boxes. We’ll be going until they run out of pancakes or the clock hits 11, whichever is later.

Don’t forget to swing by the OCSU table and say hi after getting your breakfast! We’ll be giving out some goodies we haven’t brought out for any of our other events this month so far that you won’t want to miss!! Also a reminder that if you’ve signed out a Nomination Package for the OCSU election, the deadline to hand in your package is tomorrow at noon! (Sept 16 at 12pm)

Lastly, we just want to say that we are so grateful to have the Okanagan Mission Lions Club back on campus for this beloved annual event. Thanks friends 🫶

Praying to the Almighty Algorithm that you’re seeing this before Wednesday, because that’s the deadline to hand in your nomination package!! 12PM SHARP on Sept 16 at the OCSU office!!!! That’s room A148!!!!

And if you’re wondering what the hell we’re talking about, let us explain! OCSU is looking for motivated and engaged individuals who are excited about planning events, advocating for student rights, and being a leader in the student movement. Does that sound like you? Then you’ll want to grab an aforementioned Nomination Package from our office (again, that’s room A148) and fill it out and return it to us by Wednesday Sept 16 at 12pm.
