About Nathan Wilson

Nathan Wilson brings with him over 15 years of classical piano experience, which he gained in southern Alberta and abroad. He began studying in early childhood, developing an interest in many genres of music, especially classical. His love for music, culture, and performance led him overseas to pursue an education in Asia. While studying in Thailand, he taught beginner piano to a variety of students, including children with special needs and with limited English-speaking abilities. He also was an integral part of a band that toured Southeast Asia, performing upbeat sets in large urban centres. Upon return to Canada, Nathan instructed piano at a local creative arts camp to children and youth of the Wood Buffalo region. Currently, Nathan helps lead traditional and contemporary music at Church alongside his wife, and together, they love connecting with the community. Nathan holds his grade 8 RCM equivalency, completing advanced theory with honours and is a member of the Fort McMurray Music Teachers Association. He loves meeting people of all ages and greatly enjoys sharing his passion for music.

It’s been a while since we updated this page!

Big news—our family has moved to beautiful Kelowna! We’re settling in and are especially excited for the fall: Heather and I will both be working at the school our kids are attending. It’s a special season of life, and we feel incredibly grateful to be part of their learning journey every day.

Oliver turns 5 next month and has already started asking for piano lessons from Dad. I love working with students this age—kindergarteners are curious, eager, and wide open to connecting with music in creative, joyful ways.

I’m currently accepting new piano students of all ages here in Kelowna. Whether you’re just starting out or returning to the piano, I’d love to connect. Referral program in effect!

Students are hard at work preparing for year-end recitals! 🎵

It has been a privilege and joy seeing both children and adults grow in skill, confidence and achievement 🙌 🙌

Whether completing RCM exams, participating in Festival or performing in a recital for the first time, all students have been making strides!!

Summer is just around the corner. Please let us know as soon as possible if we’ll be seeing you for lessons during the school break!

Performed in the Edmonton Music and Speech Arts Festival this afternoon and received a mark of distinction!! 🎶🎶

Congratulations to 14 of my students who also participated in Music Festivals in Edmonton and Fort McMurray this year! So many dedicated and talented performers!!! Thank you all for your hard work!! 📈
