You need to learn to walk before you can run has never been truer for our animation students.

CURRENT JOB TITLE/COMPANY:
Rigging Supervisor/Yeti Farm Creative
EDUCATION:
Some post-secondary and self taught.
ROLE AT CAT:
'Adobe Animate' Instructor.
TELL US ABOUT ONE OF YOUR CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
I made the Sonic the Hedgehog character rig for the Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps promotional animation short.
SOMETHING INTERESTING YOU ARE WORKING ON RIGHT NOW:
I'm working on setting up a Twitch channel where I plan to focus on demonstrating character rigging using Toon Boom Harmony.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT TEACHING AT CAT?:
Helping students reach that "a-ha!" moment when using Adobe Animate. And sharing hands-on knowledge I've accumulated with the students so that they're better equipped for work in the industry.
TOP TIP FOR STUDENTS:
Keep drawing. Do your best to keep that creative spark alive. Create the things you enjoy; don't worry about what's trending, as long as you do what's important to you then that's all that matters.

Characters are designed first and then animated. Character design goes beyond how they will look. The artist considers the personality of the character and how it will come to life.
Today we are featuring the work done of one of CAT’s talented 2D students, Kamryn Grierson. Marna is a caring mother and wife who unfailingly gets obsessed with every fad that comes along.
