Our Okanagan community has been profoundly affected by the forest fires, and our students are very aware of what is happening around them. This week, as we learned about forests, our students created their own forest artwork. When it came time to choose their colours, they asked for red, orange, and yellow paint, knowing that our forests are currently burning. Their artwork became a powerful reflection of what they are seeing and experiencing in our community.

We deeply empathize with our neighbours who are facing unimaginable circumstances. We see your pain, we stand with you, and we grieve alongside you. Please know that you are not alone. We will get through this together.

A heartfelt thank you to the countless first responders and volunteers who continue to answer the call for help. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are incredibly proud of the work you do to keep our communities safe.

We are so lucky that our Kelowna schools are just down the road from Mission Creek Park. We took advantage and linked up our pond curriculum with a real life pond study. Any time we can incorporate real life things into our curriculum, we do it!

One of our amazing Teachers received news no parent should ever receive. Her beautiful eight year old daughter, Carmelina, has been diagnosed with Leukemia.
