Happy Fathers Day to the absolute best of the best. Ian you are more than anything I could have ever dreamed of as the father of our kids. We are so grateful for you, and love you more than you know. You are by far our kids favourite person 🤍
To my Dad, you are the example of what it means to be not just a good dad, but a phenomenal one. today you are grieving your own son and Dad who I know you would give anything to have with you today. I am so grateful for you and everything you have done for us since day 1. You are now an even better Papa, and it makes my heart soar to watch you with my boys.
They know what it means to be a caring, present, vulnerable and kind human because they have you both.
Happy Father’s Day 🤍

• Timing Contractions •
One thing I’ve learned over the last 5 years is timing contractions can provide information but also cause anxiety, confusion and disconnection from the body. It puts your experience into a phone rather than trusting your intuition or tuning into what your body is asking of you.
Frequency of contractions is different for everyone, and just one piece of information about how your labor is progressing. Some people have surges 3 minutes apart but they’re manageable while others will have strong surges 8 minutes apart and have a baby. It’s not black and white.
Swipe to see what other signs I look for in clients to know how things are progressing, how they’re coping and what they may need.
Save and share with any expectant friends or family!
Ps. In labor, please just put the phone down. You don’t need it 😉

I intentionally set aside 1-2 months a year to be off call. These last few weeks have been so cup filling in all the right ways, especially after supporting so many incredible families who welcomed their little one(s) this Spring!
How I’ve been spending my time off call:
• Camping 3x (new fav family activity!)
• Getting back to properly working out at again TWP Fitness
• adventures and quality time with my kids, and hubby
• continuing to work hard behind the scenes on the business side of things, and making updates for Cradled App
• catching up on reading - I think I’m on book 5 in less than a month!
• supporting a new twin mama in her transition into parenthood. This is such a highlight every week.
• preparing for my MSW and practicum in the Fall
• catching up with old friends and past clients
• celebrating my KelownaNow win with my hubby 🤍
Only a few more days until the kids are done school, and summer begins! Can’t wait to support more incredible families in the next few months. What a privilege this “work” is!

If it feels aligned for you, I would love your vote for Best Doula. Although there are a lot of mixed feelings about this contest, it really is just validation that the work of all of the nominees is seen, honored and celebrated.
