Hiring an education consultant for your business can bring valuable expertise and guidance to your educational initiatives. Ed. Consultants:

✔️provide insights and recommendations on curriculum design, program development, and even audit your past education content

✔️ensure that your educational offerings align with industry standards and meet the needs of your target audience

✔️assist your business in creating high-quality educational products and services that drive growth and additional revenue streams

If you are sitting on a course idea and need some direction don't hesitate to get in touch- your experience is important, your ideas are important. Don't let 'course design' be the barrier that keeps you from sharing your genius ✨

"It's uncomfortable" - the words I first used to describe my course to my husband.

When I am learning something new, I feel stretched, vulnerable, and even frustrated - especially when the information isn't "clicking". Anyone else?

I don't love these feelings, in fact, I hate feeling "bad" at something. And yet, I do it to myself over and over and over again. Why? Because even though it can be awkward when I am starting out, I know that I am on the right path.

Learning often occurs outside of our comfort zones. So how do I deal with the discomfort that accompanies growth? I do the following things: 1) Focus of Value 2) Look to the Future and 3) Reflect often.

Don't let "it's uncomfortable" be the reason you stop pursuing learning and development.

You never know when that hard work is going to pay off...

Those books you've been reading, that course you are taking, the extra time you have been putting in to master your craft.

I shared this photo last week- right after a turn of events provided me with an unexpected opportunity. Let me rewind.

I was to attend a Committee of the Whole meeting juuusst incase there were questions regarding the Accessibility Committee ( that I am the municipal staff liaison for). The Councillor on my committee was to provide an update on our work plan for the year ahead. BUT GET THIS just as he opened his mouth to speak... his computer shut off disconnecting him from the zoom call. My heart stopped.

I recently took over this portfolio and I had spent the day before deep in legislation, old committee minutes, etc. I wanted be sure that I could answer ANY question that came my way. Well with my Councillor off line someone had to deliver the Committee report and well, that someone turned out to be me! I was able to educate Council on our priorities for the year ahead becccaaause of all the work I put in behind the scenes.

I wasn't planning on speaking that day but I am sure glad that I put in the prep time! You never know how it will serve you, what doors it could open ✨

Start with the end in mind. Sounds easy doesn't it but let me warn you- it's loaded advice.

It means that before you create an educational resource, you need to ask yourself the following questions:

1) Who am I serving ( who is my audience)?
2) How can I help? Am I addressing a pain point? Am I painting possibilities? What am I providing- tools? strategies?)
3) What do I want people to get out of this resource? What are the key takeaways I want them to come away with?

It's from here, the finish point, where you work backward to build a product that delivers. To learn more about meaningful product design check out my newest blog all about Design Thinking! Link in bio 👆🏻

Instagram users are following their fav brands (➡️ swipe to see how many) and using the platform to inform their purchasing decisions.

✨This is where education comes in, take to the grid to explain why your products and services are worth investing in, show how to use them, and take the time to unpack your knowledge for free. In doing so, you provide purchasing reinforcement for your prospective buyers.

Welcome to my "office"... also my living room. The fact is, between my 9-5 and life with my family, this is where a lot of my initial consults happen. Here, on my couch/ floor. Somewhere between corporate and cozy, business and bedtime. This is where the magic happens.

Hands up if your sofa is also doing double duty?
