The KDHS Class of 2026 celebrated their Graduation Ceremony on June 25, 2026. Congratulations to all of our graduates as they begin the next chapter of their journeys!

This weekend, KDHS is proud to host its 90th School Reunion!

The weekend is packed with opportunities to step back in time and reconnect with former classmates. Guests can explore decade rooms curated from items preserved in our Archive Room, view a pool history display, visit the merchandise store and classic car show, attend meet-and-greets, participate in scavenger hunts and trivia games, enjoy pick-up games, yoga, a community walk, a FIFA match featuring Canada, class photos, a photo booth, BBQ, entertainment, and a farewell brunch.

We wish all attendees a wonderful weekend filled with memories, laughter, and meaningful connections with former classmates.

Registration is still available on both Friday and Saturday at a flat rate of $100.

We were honoured to host Carleewareness Day, an initiative created and organized by the Carlee Memorial Committee to raise awareness about the Carlee Weidhaas Scholarship and inspire students to make safe, responsible choices behind the wheel as they head into summer break.

Our students were deeply moved by the stories shared by Carlee’s family and friends. Hearing about the positive impact Carlee had on those around her reinforced the importance of keeping her spirit and memory alive through a message of safety, care, and responsibility.

Throughout the day, students learned about four key factors: speeding, distracted driving (texting and driving), impaired driving, and seatbelt use.

Following the presentation, students participated in a variety of activities, including volleyball, ping pong, art, and a book reading, providing opportunities for reflection, connection, and community building.

Thank you to the Carlee Memorial Committee, Carlee’s family and friends, and all those who helped make this meaningful day possible.

Together, we can help ensure Carlee’s legacy continues to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. 🌻🏐💛

Congratulations to Austin Pigeau, who was selected by his peers as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2026!

This September, Austin will be entering the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education program at Nipissing University. We wish him continued success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter!

A huge thank you to Agnico Eagle Ontario for hosting our students at the Detour Lake Gold Mine site for an incredible day of learning and exploration.

A special thank you to Pascal Levesque, Lynn Chapleau, and the entire Detour team for taking the time to prepare such an engaging and informative experience for our students.

During the visit, students explored the many components of the mining operation, learned about the equipment and processes involved, and gained valuable insight into the wide range of career opportunities available in the industry.

At KDHS, we believe students are most motivated when they can clearly see the connection between education and future career opportunities. Experiences like this help students discover pathways that can lead to meaningful work, personal fulfillment, and the ability to provide for themselves and their families.
