When teaching life skills to children, one of the biggest questions parents ask us is: “Will my child actually be able to do this at home, or just at the clinic?”
It’s a fair question.
At The Portia Learning Centre, our clinics aren’t set up like treatment rooms. They’re set up like the world your child lives in, so they mirror real life:
📚 Mock Classrooms: to work on lining up, sitting for circle time and following group instructions
🧥 Cubbies, Coat Hooks, & Snack Stations: where daily routines like arrival and cleanup are practised every single session
🛒 Pretend Grocery Stores & Coffee Shops: to practise ordering, turn-taking, and social routines
🍳 Play Kitchens & Mini Washing Machines: where younger learners explore daily tasks through dramatic play
We teach it here. We practise it until it sticks. And then we make sure it works where it matters most: at your kitchen table, in your bathroom, and on your child’s toughest mornings.
