Every Orange Shirt tells a story. Today, SNTC employees wore orange to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the lasting impacts of the residential school system.

We encourage everyone to take part in events marking the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation on Sept 30. T’kemlúps te Secwépemc’s event begins tomorrow at 11:00am.

Together we can continue to support the path of truth, healing, and reconciliation.

Racism and hate have no place in our communities.

SNTC is deeply concerned by the presence of individuals associated with a group linked to white supremacist and white nationalist ideology on T’kemlúps te Secwépemc on September 27.

We are united with T'kemlúps te Secwépemc and all those affected. Together, we reject racism and hate and will continue to uphold the values of respect, inclusion, and community.

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc is aware that individuals associated with Second Sons Canada, a group linked to white supremacist and white nationalist ideology, have been seen in our community. Chief and Council are taking this seriously. We are monitoring the situation, assessing additional security measures and working with the RCMP.

Please do not approach or confront individuals associated with this group. Report suspicious or concerning activity to the RCMP and reference Police File 26-32569. Call 911 if there is an immediate threat or emergency. Please rely on official updates and check in with those who may be feeling concerned.

This special gathering offers opportunities to learn traditional and contemporary fishing practices, share intergenerational knowledge, and strengthen cultural connections.

Two years after the loss of the Red Bridge, the need for a permanent replacement remains. Attend this rally hosted by Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc and The City of Kamloops to demonstrate the strong public support for restoring this important connection.

The City of Kamloops and Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc invite residents to gather on the second anniversary of the Red Bridge’s destruction to commemorate the bridge’s history, share what it meant to the community, and demonstrate to the Province, through strong public support, the need to replace this important connection between the two communities.
