Colour My World Childcare

A great way for children to learn about colours and explore colour mixing is putting plastic wrap over paint and paper. Children can use their hands to mix the colours together and create new colours! This is a (mostly) mess-free activity which is beneficial for children that enjoy getting creative but prefer not to get paint on their hands.

Our toddlers explored science and sensory using ice blocks and ocean animals. The children created a bubbly reaction by independently adding baking soda and vinegar to the ice blocks to melt and retrieve the animals inside! Lots of fun and learning was happening while also keeping cool from the heat!

🎶 🦋 Butterfly, butterfly, fly away! You were a caterpillar yesterday. Butterfly, butterfly, fly away! Fly away for a brand new day! 🦋 🎶 Over the weekend, our butterflies evolved! This afternoon the children released them into nature at our nearby park. We will watch for them while we visit the park to play!

Today is Childcare Provider Appreciation Day.

Early Childhood Educators are the heart of our profession. Children deserve loving and nurturing Educators! They pour their hearts into their work with young children, showing up each day to care for them and provide safe, educational and nurturing environments for children to learn and grow in. Early Childhood Educators give so much, often leaving nothing left for themselves. We recognize the importance of the work that Educators do! Without them, quality early learning doesn’t exists.

Thank you to all Early Childhood Educators for the work that you do, the selfless efforts you put in each day and the love that you give through your guidance, caring and teaching.

An invitation inspired by the children’s interests! A bug hotel and mansion where all bugs are welcome to come and stay! Natural materials such as sticks and pinecones were added for exploration and incorporating nature into play.

Art in the park! The children engaged in art and colour mixing by using cars and paint together. Educators taped paper onto a slide and the children drove their cars through the paint, up and down the paper. Doing art outside is so beneficial! It’s a great experience while getting fresh air and connecting with nature at the same time. 🍃
