This week has been an inside week due to smoke but the Rosehips have been making the best of it! We have been doing obstacle courses, helping with teacher jobs, dance parties, sensory bins and of course lots of snacks! Thank you to the family who brought in raspberries from their garden to share with the classđź’•

The Saskatoon berries have been stuck inside making the best of it when the smoke rolled in. We have had many things to do besides play dough, painting, cutting, gluing and sensory sand table.
We have had baking soda, vinegar and food coloring experiments which became a coloring mixing game.Than we have had reading time. Some of our children took the time to read to their animals , building with rainbow stacking wood towers that have become more and more as they knock it down and rebuild each day.
We also enjoy puzzle making...no pics available. We have had the best time watching the Berries become self sufficient and guiding what they want to build with our loose parts. Its been Busy but amazing learning has begun with extra time inside.

Sagebrush (and a lucky forest friend) got to visit the “Slippery Science” event at the library today! It was a free event put in by the north shore library, apart of their summer book club! The children got to explore creating aquatic fossil imprints, creating their own jellyfish, and exploring “invisible” ink. Take a peek in the comments for a video!

On Wednesday, the Berries went to visit our Grandma and Grandpa's. We love our time with them...we colored, and played sensory activities and the best part was our dance party with one of our beloved Grandma's. She learned some new dance moves for the children. Can't wait for next visit!!

Sagebrush children have been having fun recently!!
We noticed an eagle on a tree during our walk, the children concluded that it was either looking for a snack (perhaps a fish?) or watching us wondering why we were looking at it!
This afternoon we explored dramatic play, balance games, and imaginative play.

We have some very special bonds in the Rosehip classđź’— Lately our children have been learning personal boundaries and asking before giving a hug! This morning we went for a nice walk in the park and practiced holding friends and teachers hands

Today was an unexpected start to our day!! The power was out and we had only a few Berries whom came to daycare.Thank you to those who were so helpful to find other care.We thank you. The berry class decided to do a huge walk to Mac Island and a picnic. The children also got to talk with Farmer Paul where we found out that he caught a live racoon. It was causing some trouble for his chickens. In all we made the best of a very weird but good day!!
