Tuesday, September 29.

All Parasol centres will be closed on Wednesday, September 30, for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

**Parasol – Early Years Learning** has locations throughout **Kamloops**, with spaces currently available at our **Downtown, Dallas, and North Shore locations**.

* **Infants & Toddlers:** 8 months+
* **3–5 Years:** Full-day Montessori- and Reggio-inspired program
* **School-Age Care:** Serving children attending **Beattie, Arthur Hatton, Lloyd George, and Aberdeen Elementary Schools**

At our centre, we love providing opportunities for open-ended (process) art, where children are free to explore, create, and express themselves without focusing on a finished product. These experiences help develop creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, confidence, and self-expression.

But we also believe that all forms of art have value. 🌈

✨ Process art encourages exploration and imagination.
✏️ Scribbles and doodles are the foundation of early writing and drawing skills.
🖌️ Product art helps children follow directions, practice specific skills, and feel proud of creating something recognizable to take home.

It’s not about choosing one over the other—it’s about finding a healthy balance. Every child learns differently, and every type of art offers unique opportunities for growth.

After all, art isn’t just about the final masterpiece—it’s about the journey, the learning, and the joy of creating. 💛

This week’s colorful sensory tray invited our little learners to scoop, pour, and explore a rainbow of textures and colors. As they played, they strengthened their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration while enjoying a fun, hands-on sensory experience. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

What happens when baking soda + vinegar meets imaginative play and sensory exploration? Pure childhood magic! 🧪✨

Today’s activity combined science, sensory play, fine motor practice and creativity to create an engaging experience that kept our friends curious, excited, and involved from start to finish. At our centre, we love providing meaningful experiences that follow children’s interests while encouraging learning through play. 💛

Our friends enjoyed a wonderful day outdoors, exploring open-ended art in the playground. With bright skies, fresh air, and endless imagination, every masterpiece was uniquely their own. We love providing opportunities for children to create, discover, and express themselves through hands-on experiences in nature. 🌈✨
