We are excited to announce another sensory-friendly movie event!
🤖 Join us for a special Sensory-Friendly Screening of The Wild Robot!
đź“… Saturday, June 6
đź•‘ 2:00 PM
After a shipwreck, an intelligent robot named Roz finds herself stranded on an uninhabited island. As she learns to survive in the wild, Roz forms unexpected bonds with the island’s animals — including caring for an orphaned baby goose. Filled with heart, adventure, and beautiful animation, The Wild Robot is a touching story for all ages.
The Kamloops Film Society, in partnership with Canucks Autism Network (CAN) and Social Butterflies, is proud to offer this sensory-friendly screening designed for individuals and families who benefit from a more relaxed and inclusive cinema environment.
✨ What to expect:
• Lower sound levels
• Softened lighting
• Freedom to move around or take breaks as needed
• A welcoming, judgment-free atmosphere
• Limited Sensory Kits available to borrow during the film
We look forward to welcoming children, youth, and families for an accessible movie experience at the Paramount Theatre.

We would like to thank Canucks Autism Network and Kamloops Film Society for partnering with us to put on our first sensory-friendly screening of Inside Out. It was amazing to see and hear so many children watching a movie with their families in a safe and inclusive environment. Many families shared that this was their child’s first movie theatre experience and were thrilled that they could experience this! We’re looking forward to more of these in the future!

Spots are still open for the Move Together program!
Exciting news from the Y and CAN!
"We’re excited to share that CAN is partnering once again with the YMCA to offer another season of the Y Mind Teen Program—and we’d love to welcome your teen to join us!
This FREE, supportive program is facilitated by CAN’s own Coach Taylor, and offers teens a warm, comfortable space to connect, share, and build practical tools for managing stress and anxiety. Our fall group had such a positive experience that they’ve chosen to continue together into the winter session—which speaks volumes about the impact the program has had.
We’re hoping to extend this opportunity to even more teens who could benefit from a safe and encouraging space to learn, grow, and build confidence.
